    Happy New Year everybody....
I thought I would let you all know how things are going.
First and foremost I celebrated 6 months AF on Boxing day(26thDec).
I live in a hostel on the south coast of England and I am loving being home.
It has been almost 9 months since I made the move.
I volunteer twice a week helping people seeking advice who
don't have the financial means to get the info from attorneys.
I am completing an N.V.Q.in advice and guidance there also.
I start college on the 11th of January, I am taking a math course to
    improve my poor math skills.
Today is the first day without cig's.
I have been on Champix(Chantix) for 10 days and today I had set for my quit day
    (stay tuned here).
Back awhile ago I asked if you would help me decide which poem to enter in a
contest....Well I entered the one that got the most votes from you and I was one of the
adult winners...I got to go to beautiful Crawley for a few hours and pick up my prize( a 20 quid book certificate.
I also entered the other poem in a different competition for Adfam (help for people with family members in addiction) and I won second prize.
I was invited to London to pick up my prize at St Brides Church in Fleet St which is in the
heart of London.(There is a Wikipedia page)
I met with celebrities from stage and screen,Christopher Timothy from all creatures great and small and Paul Freeman who was in Raiders of the lost Ark and the British television show
    Cold Feet.
The master of ceremonies was Sandy Toksvig(British Comedienne)
My best friend came down to London for moral support, which was needed as I
    was quite nervous.
All in all a really great night.
I am enjoying being in the hostel as the people in here are very serious about
there sobriety and the staff are "Top Notch"
I am in the process of putting together a blog (never done that before your help maybe needed) I will be putting my poetry on it as It is a good way of sharing it with others
    who may enjoy it.
Well if you are still awake I will sign off now but, not without thanking each and everyone
of you for all the support, encouragement and prayers you have sent my way over the past
nine months, without you all of what I have accomplished would not have come to fruition.
    Thank You,
    UKSean x

Wow, what fantastic accomplishments, Sean. You should be very proud, but I'm guessing more than that you're very happy. Hope your 2010 is just as brilliant. Congratulations! Can you put a link back to your post with the poems? I seem to remember that but would love to read them again

Wonderful Sean how your life has changed, and what an inspiration to others.

I am so glad for you that your poems were so well received, I remember when you asked for the vote, it was almost unanimous as I recall.

You can only go from strength to strength now and as a wonderful example to others.

Congratulations on all you have achieved, and for sharing it here and with those you help in your daily life.
I love you, I'm sorry, please forgive me, thank you.
