One more REALLY favorite: Sitting on my couch at the cabin, watching old movies, facing the fireplace and the bank of windows alongside it when the sky is heavy grey clouds and the snow is coming down in huge, fluffy flakes outside. Seeing the deer walking single-file through the woods up the facing ridge in the silence only a big snowfall brings. And if the power goes out (it always does) lighting all my candles and oil lamps. Sipping tea or hot chocolate mounded with marshmallows and whipped cream.
