we've had a few dogs and they've all loved socks. I've also had a cat that would just roll and roll with slightly 'unusual' pleasure on them.

When the son and heir came home from uni with bin bag full of old socks. Black Bess looked as if she'd died and gone to heaven.

My friends had a cat that would steal rolled up socks from the neighbours washing baskets. You could watch him coming up the street with socks in his mouth.
