That means I'd have met two of the other three South African MWO'ers in the last few weeks. Now we just need to find out what's happened to DeeBee...

I met with Grim on Boxing Day, and we had a whale of a time driving around Stellenbosch and having a braai.

I've just observed something very interesting. Sad (because of the hardship it implies), but interesting.

Garbage day is normally on a Monday, and we leave home before 7.00 a.m. to drop the cubs at school and get to work.

Being on leave, I could observe what happens to the contents of the neighbourhood wheelie bins. And yes, I WAS busy doing other things as well

Recycling South-Africa style has become specialised. We throw all types of garbage into the same bin. No separation or waste disposal units. 5 different trolley-ed (NOT troll-eyed) people have come past in the past hour & 1/2. One collected all the glass, another all the paper, a third plastic. The other two collected food that seems to be usable still.

Upon collecting the wheelie bin, I was surprised to see that the contents had been reduced by about 2/3ds...

Mmmmmm. Made me think.

Ah, success at last

The fine sandy residue at the bottom of the pool have been conquered by chemicals. They have coagulated into little blobs that the pool cleaner is systematically gobbling up.

I love suburbia..
