I did not find what you were reading about but people can certainly have side effects from vitamin B, similar to what you are talking about; nervousness, awakeness. Perhaps RJ can address this better but it is very difficult to overdose on B vitamins as they are not stored in the body. You may just be having a reaction of some sort. Again, I am no expert, just what I have read......I'm really easy to get along with once people learn to worship me

too much b vitamins?
B6
Hi there.
B6 is usually safe in doses up to 200 mg, although much higher doses are used therapeutically. (It's often sold in 100 mg. tablets.) This water soluble vitamin is particularly important to drinkers, who are often deficient, and it's why we recommend the 25 mg + 50 mg doses for the six week program which are found in ALL ONE and the B-50 complex respectively. B6 also helps metabolize amino acids, and that's very important in the MWO program. Again, toxicity may be found at doses over 200 mg. per day but symptoms would probably include lethargy rather than insomnia, so there might be something else going on. I can't imagine you'd suffer those effects from 75 mg of B6.
Our dietary recommendations have been reviewed by a number of nutritionists, MDs and herbalists, and none have found them to be excessive. If you have concerns, however, please feel free to contact a nutritionist (weekday/working hours) at NOW Foods, our dietary supplement partner at 888-669-3663. They are a highly regarded, award winning company with whom we are proud to partner.
Hope that helps.
RJ
p.s.: Many people--our team included--consider RDA recommendations woefully low. For instance, the RDA for Vitamin C, a powerfully healing anti-oxidant, is only 75 mg. for women. However, a daily intake of at least 400 mg. is recommended and may be particularly important for older adults who are at higher risk for chronic diseases. It is easily tolerated up to 2,000 mg. per day.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

too much b vitamins?
thanks all
thank you roberta and everyone else for responding. just having a hard time right now. could be an anxiety/depresion disorder or just life stress. i also recently went off zoloft and it was bad so i started taking it again. i just have to figure it out. i am drinking less than i was and i haven;t even recieved the meds yet. just hypno and supps, water and slowly started to work out and change my focus. i live in a ski resort and i'm single so there isn't much to do with my nights which is a battle. i'm thinking of moving but i guess wherever you go there are bars. so hard to get away from my lifestyle- i'm a bartender- but it will save my life. maybe thats what i'm stressing so hard. thanks all. toomuch:thanks:

HI toomuch,
working in a bar must be hell. and ski resorts are usually full of transient people so it must be hard to build up a support system of friends. Since you are single, it wouldn't be that hard for you to move, would it? Find a place where a lot is happening at night and where you can put roots down. My network of friends has been a godsend for me.
Good luck!

yea, working in a bar is hell. i'm surrounded by alcohol and every bartender i have ever seen or worked with drinks behind the bar. i've probably only seen one exception in 10 years. even ones i thought didn't drink i've seen sneaking drinks. such a stressful job. and yes i've decided to move. but then i'll probably have to do the bar thing at first to survive. and there are bars everywhere you go and if you're single... not making excuses it's just difficult to find something else to do with your nights. would like to do the dinner party thing and have just a glass or two instead of getting off work and drinking way too much every night. plan on joining the gym to take up some time. i used to be a pretty good athlete but drinking and having hangovers took care of that. i have good friends in so.cal so.. i've definately fallen in with the party crowd here and it's not good. tooo old for that. anyway doing the meds, hypno, starting to work out. but i really think the meds are the most important and i have'nt gone there yet.:thanks:

too much b vitamins?
Hey too much, I have many things in common with you. I used too exercise alot, work in a restaurant and booze is such a part of the business as breathing is for life. I am sure there are people in the biz who abstain but I have seen very few of them in my 30+ years of restaurant & bar life. I went to a couple of AA meetings a few years back and the leader told me I would have to quit working in restaurants and that was my second and last meeting. Not that he was right or wrong just that that's really all I know. I am now looking into other things as alternative but restaurants have been my life. Listen if you have a problem with anxiety check out this sight on a condition that some people with severe and chronic Anxiety have, it's called pyroluria.http://www.drkaslow.com/html/pyroluria.html[/URL] Good luck with everything and believe me I know how hard it is too be in the bar biz and not drink. But remember if you are motivated enough to do something and you persist you CAN do anything. I quit once for 8 mos. using the "7 Weeks to Sobriety" book. The amount of pills was crazy but I think the EFA's (I use Borage seed oil) really help. So now I have the supps., bought a good set of headphones and am waiting on the tapes, take 4,200 on trying to quit :. Will try this first and will talk to a doc. about meds. Anyway, hang in there, be positive. Also check out the web site, it just might help. Take care,
