Oh Draggy,
why can't they understand the pain and anxiety they put people thru just left waiting..
To them it's just filling a date on the schedule, but for those waiting is like a prolonged agony each day having all crazy things going thru your mind...

my prayers and thoughts are with you & your daughter hun..stay strong and think positive, maybe if it was very bad, they would have pushed the dates thru urgently..??????

yes lj thats what i've been telling myself, if it really was so bad they would'nt keep her waiting so long, but then again, this is ireland and healthcare is unbelievable here and i am not joking, seriously ill people waiting on trolly's in corridors for days, so many times people can't go visiting sick relatives because of msra infections being rife and most hospitals are closed to visitors.
poor mario did'nt get to see his new granddaughter untill today when mum and baby got home.

you are so right lj, you remind me of starty, i lost it last july and was talking with her on the phone and she pulled me up by the socks and told me to stay positive and so i am positive but this waiting is doing my nut in (to paraphrase you)

I will pray for a good outcome 2/8. Cervical cancer is almost always caused by the HPV virus.

Make sure they are not just doing a total hysterectomy because that is what is "convenient." Look into a procedure called LEEP. That's what they usually do in America if it has not spread beyond the cervix.

I just want you armed with information. Also, they should not take out her ovaries unless they are cancerous. That would mean hormone replacement therapy for the rest of her life beginning at her age -- it's rough.

I hope it works out.

thanks for the advice mau but we're talking pre-cancerous cells at the moment and please god she does'nt need a hysterectomy but the main thing is it is pre-cancrous and if the only thing to prevent cancer to develop is a hysterectomy, so be it

Draggy,

I had precancerous cells in my 30s. (Probably caused by HPV, hubby has 'NEVER' been unfaihful...)

They burned my cervix with a laser. It was not painful and I was up and about within one day.

I didn't have to lose my uterus for years and years. All paps came back negative. I had to lose my uterus when I was in my late 40s due to a large cyst. It was causing lots of problems.

By that time, I didn't care. :-)

I hope it is the same for your girl.

There is NO WAY a hysterectomy needs to be performed for pre-cancerous cells. Trust me on this. I work in the medical field. Get a 2nd opinion. Best of luck.

your daughter hopefully will be fine, :fingers:will keep checking this thread,the least we can all do, this is one family who pull for eachother in all ways!!!:l:h
