    I Had The Best Real Sleep Last Night!!!... Day 8

    I had the best night sleep last night!...I took the advice of many people on this site and from the Tool Box. I downloaded a few deep sleep meditations, music and sounds. Iwasnt going to-because I like watching t.v until I fall out . But since I've started being AF I've had terrible,restless nights. But last night I got frustrated. There wasnt any thing to watch. I got up and played the Deep Sleep Hypnosis thingy and rolled a joint.Started to actually interact with the soft spoken man. I did some deep breathing, some imagery and listened! I woke up this morning refreshed and with the realization that I had fell asleep! It was so good that I cant wait to do it again tonight! I might go to bed earlier just to do it again-That was definitely better than ANY ALCOHOLIC drink or black out!!!! One Day At A time-right?!

    Great stuff Mom! Just be careful you don't end up relying on a joint to put you to sleep every night, but i reckon that's the least of your worries. Day 8 is a huge achievement! Keep going, there's no stopping you now. Well done friend!

      Sleep is pivotal, one of the things we don't understand a lot about. We don't 'sleep' when we pass out, or use any other med. Sleep is what our body does naturally, to rest and replenish the wear we've done on our muscles, including out heart. At one point, I slept less than 2 hours without waking, then going back to sleep to repeat it. This is not REST. I couldn't understand why, after hours of unconsciousness, I was so exhausted. We don't get to make the rules, our bodies do. We must get enough rest for our muscles to repair themselves, and in cases like mine, to at least rest them. Now, I can sleep MUCH longer, but the pressures of my life wake me. I know thats wrong, because we need to go to sleep, and stay asleep, until we begin to wake naturally, when our body is ready. Doesn't happen everyday, and thats when we need to look at why we have the problem. IMHO
