The Next day Thread, February, 2010.

    Arvo all,

Sorry about the cat, Ronnie. A request - when you tuck me in tonight, could you leave my Minnie Mouse night light on please?

Spam - yup, Guitarista is aka Mr.G, G-force and a heap of other names as are the rest of us, which is quite bizarre seeing we're all using screen names anyway. Reggie turned us all Greek at some stage, ,so we ended up with Fickopolous, Angelopolous, Spireggious etc etc etc. Worse still is when someone made a typo and called Angel Angle, she then became Grinder and someone mistyped me and called me Hawny so I became Hornos and on and on it goes ... guess you had to be there at the time.

I'm stoked that we aren't incessantly posting during the day. Must mean we're enjoying summer, working our butts off or generally enjoying life away from the 'puter.

Bridge and Ficks - have you got an electric chainsaw? Best thing ever for small stuff. OK folks - it's Blunnies off and time to sit in the fernery and read the papers. Might check on you reprobates later.

Oh - and KatieSmiles - thanks! Knew we could count on you Canadians to have our back.

      Evening folk's,
Very sorry to hear about your cat Ronnie. What was her name? I had to put my dog of 15 years down, through old age really, a couple of years ago. It is devastating, but sounds like your cat had a good innings?

G'day Spam, yep, by plan, i'm wondering what yours is regarding grog, and your relationship with it?
      Hope you're well.

A safe, sober evening to all.

            Guitarista,

I don't have a specific plan to quit drinking. I am 25 kgs overweight and need to address that. 90% of the gaining weight problem has been due to drinking at least a bottle of wine a night for as long as I remember.

I am going to be 40 at the end of the year and I plan to be fitter and healthier than I have ever been.

Rather than just addressing AL, I am working on a healthier way of eating and attending the gym. I don't want to make my plan all about AL. AL is an attention seeker and does not deserve my attention. (Hope that makes sense.)

I haven't spoken to my doctor but I think maybe I should. From reading other threads, it seems to be beneficial to involve your GP.

I was upto 11 days AF but have blown it this weekend. But I WILL start again. I haven't really made a decision whether to quit completely or try and moderate yet.

One of the reasons I'm here is to see what other people are doing.

                            Hello hello

Just popped in to Give Ronnie a () (I don't know how to do emoticon things). Ronnie, we had a very similar situation with our cat that we left in the UK, and we had her cremated and I smuggled half of her ashes back to Singapore - she's sitting on my shelf right now. Its hard when a pet dies, and harder when you're far away. x

                            Welcome Spam!

I still read every day even though I'm not posting, I just can't resist! And I do care about you'se all, even in our little virtual MWO world (I really should learn the huggy things).

                            Bets

P.s. I walked into the glass doors in our apartment today and was able to pick myself up, ice my nose, rub in the arnica cream and just get on with it. Had I been drinking it would have been much much messier and dramatic, so I'm extra grateful to be AF today.

I still read every day even though I'm not posting

i am in brisbane also, my doctor prescribed campral which has been fantastic @ cutting cravings. A mate also in brisbane just went to his gp, who after one mention of campral gp said "no way you need rehab, heres a script for valium"....go figure.
of course my gp s in woodridge, his is in thornlands so may be an expereance thing.
