Well, I'm no slacker, G. I started the Feb thread at 9.30am this morning. Now we have two on the go. I looked for a Feb thread but didn't see one. I'll put a note on mine to ignore it.

AUSTRALIANS' love affair with grog is so great they'd rather give up sex, their car and their friends than lay off the bottle for a month.

When quizzed by charity FebFast, one in five drinkers said they would prefer to go without sex than booze, while twelve per cent admitted they would ditch their friends over alcohol.

The same number said they'd opt to give up driving for four weeks if they had to choose between their wheels and liquor and 30 per cent said they would rather toss their mobile phones.

FebFast, which works to highlight the dangers of drugs and alcohol, questioned 1006 people in the lead-up to a campaign that encourages Australians to give up drinking during February.

And most believed they had the willpower to meet the challenge.

Three-quarters of those surveyed said they would be able to stay sober for 28 days.

But others totally snubbed the idea, with one in 20 showing just how much they love a drink by revealing they would rather go without sleep for the entire period than not pick up a bottle.

People aged between 20 and 69, from all states and territories, took part in the online survey, conducted over three days in December.

Oh I definitely believe the article from the courier mail Sky. Us Aussies certainly love our booze. I know many of my collegues, friends would answer the same.

Here's to a AF Feb for all of us. I'm day 2 AF and it was 1st day on my new job today and 2nd day on antidepressant - so all in all think I'm doing ok considering so many changes. Off to have a well deserved cup of tea - how strange! It would usually be a sav blanc, one bottle!

Hi Aussie Nurse...the first couple of weeks on the a/ds are a doozy so stick with it.
Sky - didn't see your thread thismorning!! But you can delete the whole thread I think - try going into editon the firstpost & deleting there or right click on thethread & see if there's a delete...only the person that started the thread can delete it (or a moderator)
