The Next day Thread, February, 2010.

Evening Sky, and all to come,
Sky, When i say 'pump it up', it's just my way of sending people encouragement, whether they might need it or not. So, i mean it in a constructive, positive way, and having been down this road many times like a lot of us, to me, we need all the encouragement and support we can get to fight this very cunning, persistant, crafty beast. I think i also get the term from the occassional fitness session's i do, too, as a term meaning 'come on, keep going' etc.
    Congrat's on 34 day's!

    Pump it up folk's!

Thank you G, for the explanation. I didn't think you meant it any other way than positive. That would not be you. Twas just wondering was all. I actually edited my post and left out the number of days because I can't count. I think I'm only on 32 days. But thanks.

Glad it seems like you had an exciting day Reg.

Sky, only 32?! That's a huge achievement. Are you going for another 30 day's at least, Ronnie style?

                Morning all,

I think it's cute the way Ronnie gets to tuck us all in and turn off the lights each night. Thanks Ronnie.

Been thinking about jobs. Since we started hanging out on this thread, Betts was the first to get a new job. Then Mr. G stopped driving trucks and is now obviously enjoying his new line of work. Angel returned to the workforce and is loving being back in the action. Ficks landed a ripper and although the job seems to have been cut short, I'm petty sure it will lead to good things in Fick's future. AussieNurse has changed jobs to general nursing and no shift-work. That's got to be an absolute bonus. So, thinking about that, I'm petty sure that Bridge will get a good response to her resume' and will be employed in no time.

It's amazing what we can do once we actually pull the finger out and actively seek to make a change rather than just think or talk about it.

                  .
I really like that too! And Ronnie - I get up at 5:30 here which is about 2 or 3 hours after your last post, and I usually do a "sweet dreams Ronnnie" thing in my head.(hadn't really realised that I was doing this before Tawny drew attention to it!).

If I'm being slightly more emotional than usual you can blame it on my addiction therapist. She is great. I'l talk about it at some point but too early yet. Probly a bit like you with your meetings Ronnie.

As for jobs ......I've been doing a bit of research recently on the linkages between work, wellbeing and mental health. Summed up as good work is good for you. Emphasis on good work - work that gives you a challenge, some autonomy and control, recognises you as an individual, takes account of other stuff going on in your life, etc I have gone on at great length about it in a thing I have just written but wont bore you with it here!!

However, I am looking forward to a break from it next week!!

                    Morning all,
Yes Hornos, amazing indeed. In my case, simply just getting off the turp's gave me more energy, a healthier, better looking, much more present, switched on me, load's of self confidence came back, shiny hair, clear, non red, bloated skin/face, and a vital, but inner calm sort of look about me.
You reckon i didn't kick arse at job interview's? Slayed 'em! And even if i wasn't to get a job i was after, i would be sure to have the inner confidence, and self esteem, which had returned since stopping boozing, to get a job i was after soon enough.

Have a magical day folk's, and go for it Bridgos!

                      Morning Missios,
The 'good work' and giving us challenges being good for us etc, is EXACTLY what my new job gives me. Autonomy, respect for my idea's, challenges, and i need to problem solve, and find solutions, on any given day. Just like you're talking about. And because of all these thing's and more, i love it!
Take care, and don't work too hard. Lunch break, and 2 x smoko's per day at least........;-)

Hi gang, gr8 work Sky. go for 60!
nothing much to report here, I had a mate over last week and he took a shine to my last two snakes. he offered some good money, so i soldem to him. No pets in the house bar a few fish...down from hundreds of rats/mice, dozens of lizzards/dragons/goannas and 30 odd snakes, and some dogs. seems a like a quieter house, the new babby will sort that out though.

forgot my campral the other day, and the cravings were back by 8pm. think its pschosymattica or what? still got 8 1/2 months on campral to go so i spose i wait and see.

                        have a gr8 day folks...

hard to get any work done here today as the sevens are on and are office is right in the middle of an area where people are hanging out in bars getting drunk and watching it on TV. Very loudly. Town is full of people dressed up in outrageous customes ..... lots of cross dressers, 70s retro and middle aged men in too-tight too short shorts. Think stubbies ... or was it only kiwi blokes that got into that unfortunate fashion mistake??

I'm off early in the morning and lots to sort out before I go, so see you all in a weeks time - have a good one
