there was 28,000 without electric for 24hrs,
Santa cruz was just about cut off and the west side puerto de la cruz and down hit very bad...
and sorry to say Lanarote as well...

just come back from taking my doggies out..it is really wierd this afternoon the waves were crashing 40mts up the cliff side up to appt blocks into their patios..and now the sea is so far out it's hard to see the waters edge..
it's all beach and rocks..!!

forecast is it will last another two days and should be getting less as time passes, so by sunday it should be OK,

That is a real shame about the carnaval preperations. I was at the one in Puerto De La Cruz one year and it was amazing, we really enjoyed it.

yep it is..every body has been getting excited and preparing everything last week was the competion for the murgas and for the carnaval queen parades.. the dress rehersals.
it is meant to start this weekend

it is such a shame so much work goes into it, the cotmes etc will be OK but they had started to dress the streets and set up all the attraction, which have been badly damaged,
the huge ferris wheel in Sata Cruz smashed to the ground..!!
