I have now been sober 40 days and seemed to have come down with a cold. I took some alka seltzer cold medicine (without acetiminophen) and wow, I can't believe how in the clouds my head is. I feel like I'm looking down at everything from atop the room, very wierd and unpleasant. I can remember taking this stuff when I was drinking and thought it actually made my head clearer. I'm not taking any more, the cold is far better than this feeling.

All medicines on the market do nothing to reduce severity or duration of cold symptoms, according to my local pharmacist, so there is no reason to take them if they don't bring you comfort.My life is better without alcohol, since 9/1/12. My sobriety tool is the list at permalink 236 on the toolbox thread under monthly abstinance.
