Oh goodie... I have managed to get all my orange trees in Country Life to blossom at the same time... a bit like women who share the same house...
      I'll do whatever it takes

Just read back, does lent begin on Wednesday or Shrove Tuesday/Pancake Day/Day after Clean Monday?

I went to school at a Convent, and we had Ash Wed at the beginning of lent, and even tho I wasn't RC, we all proudly wore our blob of ash on our forhead for the whole day!

Good grief, that's what Ash Wednesday means? I had no idea. Here, Lent starts after Clean Monday, in other words, on Shrove (Pancake) Tuesday, which we don't celebrate...

                      JFYI
                      From Wikipedia...
For the Western Christian calendar, Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent and occurs forty-six days (forty days not counting Sundays) before Easter. It is a moveable feast, falling on a different date each year because it is dependent on the date of Easter. It can occur as early as 4 February or as late as 10 March.

Ash Wednesday gets its name from the practice of placing ashes on the foreheads of the faithful as a sign of repentance. The ashes used are gathered after the Palm Crosses from the previous year's Palm Sunday are burned.
But that would mean that Ash Wednesday is the Wednesday before Shrove Tuesday I think, otherwise there are more than 46 days before Easter.....
