oh well ..... I would have thought you might have at least had a welcome back party organised!!

seriously, wanted to really give big thanks to you all for your thoughts and messages (you too BH if you are reading!!). It was a long and tiring week, and full of high drama! My mother has been knocked for six, and it ended up being me that had to tell her about my brother's passing, and take her up to where he was. As a result of her distress, she became sick herself (she has heart problems) and Thursday morning I had to take her into A&E. She spent the day in hospital until they had her stabilised. It was all a bit overwhelming. As a result of all of that she has decided that she wants to move permanently into a rest home before the onset of winter, and that will be a great relief to me

There were lots of other things going on as well which I wont bore you with, but despite everything, the funeral was magnificent ........... my brother was a musician (and an exceptionally good one, with national and international recognition for his instrument) and we invited everyone he had ever been in a band with to participate in the music making. He had chosen the music himself. It was stunning. Really stunning. Even my mother reckoned it was a fitting tribute, which was pretty amazing given that she is extremely rigid and wanted a very traditional service in the religion that she had brought us up in!!

There were lots of other things that happened that were magic. Including opening up in our family some of the things that we never talk about. And doing it publicly.

Lots of other things to say ....... he did his recovery through AA and I have always been really anti-AA because of my personal experiences with it. But he wanted his funeral at the church that was associated with the programme that he was part of and they were just brilliant. At the moment I have all sorts of thoughts running around in my head, but my highest priority for right now is a good sleep. But I honestly feel like the corner has been turned and I can get my life back again.

Missy B, you've done so so well throughout a very very difficult time. The funeral sounds like it was as positive experience as ever a funeral can be. Did the relative get back from Chile?

Morning friend's,
Well, lot's of fairly steady rain here over last couple of day's, beginning with some brutal hail on sat, that would've added that funky 'Yo, my car's been shot at' sort of look some young fella's around here seem to go for on their Subaru's/Nissan's.
But, the sun is a shinin' as i write, though rain is forecast. Ah malakas, as they say in the northside of Thessaloniki 'ah, the weather the weather'.

Sandra Bulloch is a good actor i reckon. Saw her in 'Blindside'. Tearjerker, corny, but based on a true story, and Sandra is great. What's with her nose? Is it natural, or did someone stuff up a nose job? I love her either way.....

And Keith was on the blower around 3/4.00 this morning worried about Nicole. He was admirably calm, and sounded focused, given that he think's she's sneaking the odd vodka and orange late in the evening before bed. I told him 'don't worry about, and just relax. She doesn't have a drinking problem, you do, so just look after you, keep on that even keel, and be thankful for her support, you're doing great. you're sounding fresh, positive, focused, and just keep doing what you're doing'. Reckon's he got worried when he found a can of 'EBG Midnight mist for ladies' under the bed. I said, focus on the Oscar's buddy, and just put one foot in front of the other, and tomorrow's another day.
Then George rang, said he loved Straya. Sounded like he'd had a couple, and i swear i heard Andre,P's distinctive cackle in the background. Needless to say, that convo was a v short one.
