Hello Spam, I nearly choked when I read your post earlier. DW had to come and thump me on my back. Too funny :H

          THE NEXT DAY THREAD, March

          Good morning Mr G,

Looks like it's only you and me out of bed in the Southern Hemisphere.

Weather here is looking good. Can almost feel autumn in the air. The skies are blue, the wind is blowing and it's finally below 30 degrees.

I'm white-knuckling the house work today to make it good for the weekend.

          Catch up with everyone later.

            THE NEXT DAY THREAD, March

Spam - hope you are feeling a bit better and that your housework is all done! I have that pleasure to look forward to tomorrow!

Mr G - hope you and all your heads enjoy your 3-day weekend.

Bridge - if you can just get into a routine I reckon it takes about 2 weeks to kick in) you'll wonder how you ever did without it! Make sure you are doing stuff that you really enjoy (dance classes??) ...... and start slow and work up. I have a special playlist on my i-pod which is solely made up of really happy and fast music (generally party/poppy stuff) which I play on those occasions when I have to force myself to the gym. Even if I only go for 30 minutes, I feel better at the end of it, and usually a bit happier from the music.

As for location of a meet up I am happy to go with the flow too. But Sydney or Melbourne are easiest for me. Have to be in Sydney for a family wedding on 15 October and Mr B and I are going to be there probably from Tuesday 12th and hopefully have until the 24th. Some warm weather (in comparison to here!!) will be very welcome at that time of winter!!

I have a quiet weekend planned ..... Mr B has gone north to see his boy for the weekend and then back to Canberra for a week. It is a good time for me to take a deep breath and stand still for a bit.

And I have been meaning to say that the Wombles (kittens) have started to really thrive! It has taken a while as mum was severely undernourished, and we couldn't find any food that she seemed to like. However, we finally got her onto lambs fry, and she has been eating vast quantities, and mid-last week the kittens started to put on more than 2 grams at a time. Might do some photos tonight if I can tear myself away from the DVD.

              Miss B,

Thanks for the kitten up-date. I was thinking about them this morning as I dusted a bookshelf and saw my old Wombles books.

Totally agree with your ipod excercise music. I found my ipod (classic) too big to run with so I have just bought a tiny mp3 player type thing. It's not got a huge amount of memory but it's loaded with my running podcast and some dance / upbeat music. Couldn't live without it now.

However, there are also times when I am happy to train without music and just "lose" myself in my thoughts. Despite being a "grown up" I'm still a day dreamer.

                  THE NEXT DAY THREAD, March

                  A sad evening indeed.

No-one is here and we are dropping further down the page.

I keep posting to make sure we don't end up on......PAGE TWO!!

Having a not bad day. Finally got to the doc's and got given antibiotics for a chest infection.

The temperature in Brisbane has dropped to a chilly 20 degrees so snuggling up and watching the first BlackAdder series. Never got into it first time around and still think the others are better.

                  Night all

Goodness, we can't be on .....PAGE TWO!

A word of warning ladies - do not tuck your ipod in your sports bra, I've just killed another one, it's the sweat that gets 'em.

I'm re-reading 'What I talk about When I talk About Running' by Haruki Murakami. Inspires me in my efforts. Since this time last year I've lost 6kg. Doesn't sound a lot but it is when you're only 150cm tall, but today I caught sight of my reflection and recognised 'myself', which I haven't done for a long long time.

Miss B, i think I've said this before but we used to foster kittens, I loved it.

Am having Teen embuggerance. Turns out he's failing at school (but they didn't think to tell us), very very bright boy but doesn't see the need for qualifications as he's going to be an entrepreneur. Hmmm. The Hippy Dippy part of me wants to believe that it will all be ok, but the uptight expat Mom part of me thinks that I should be hysterical that he doesn't have his future mapped out for him.

Teen two however who has never been academically inclined is already making money out of his passion (photography) at age 14.......

My passion is really music, but i'm scared to try and get back into it. Lacking confidence I think. That may be next on the list.

Sorry for the self indulgence and reflection but I just needed to vent (in a gentle kind of way) somewhere.

Oh and I'm up for a meet up with the bunch of ex-alkies I met on the internet - never been to Sinny or Melbourne, but always willing to use Mr Sweats airmiles........

I think as its Saturday tomorrow you all deserve a gentle tucking.

                    Night,

Evening Spamos, Missios, Bridgopoulou, and those in the wing's,
Good to hear the mum and kitten's seem to be getting healthier, Miss B, and hope you are doing okay too.
Exercise is an essential part of the whole recovery, or lifestyle changes/modification's process, we need to make to change, and take our lives back. One great thing about exercise, is that we can make it as intense as we like, and do what ever activity we like. A simple walk/jog/walk/jog with some swimming, and or push-up's and sit-up's is great too. Missios doesn't speak with forked tongue when she suggest's you take it slow and easy to start with Bridge. It's a sure fire mood lifter too!

All's well here, and ah, what grand weather we're having down here. A relaxing evening spent making music...Yeaaahh.

Oh, so much to talk about!

Firstly, and sincerely, I hope I didn't offend anyone with my "meeting up with ex-alkies" comment. You guys are brilliant and I wouldn't be on this wagon without you. My guilty alkie thing is kicking in here.

Hubby is face to face with a screen all day and doesn't understand my interest in talking to other people in the evening. Also, I have not admitted I'm getting help with drinking or not drinking to be precise. I have just told him I want to lose weight and be healthy.

As for the 5km run..count me in..have already started on a couch to 5km programme.

Bets - Music! Try it when you're children are at school. I used to play saxophone / clarinet type instruments...but darling son is playing trombone! An instrument where I don't know the positions and also in bass clef. I can transpose but very painfully! I am tempted to buy a second hand clarinet to see how I get on. In the meantime, I am grabbing a recorder and learing to read music again.

                                Bets again....6 kgs is awesome!
