I once saw this young couple about 18 or so years old. They each had nose rings and lip rings attached by chains, and lip studs and tongue "barbells" as well. (I watched them for some minutes - I was fascinated by all the metal and tatoos they had) Anyway, I wondered if all that metal got entangled when they smooched. However, by the looks of the iguana that kept crawling all over their arms and faces, I doubt they got the chance much...

Daughter says she has seen lots of people with infections from the tongue piercings, since the mouth is so full of germs. Says its about the nastiest thing she's seen in medicine! YUCK!sigpic

I've got my ears pierced. The daughter had her belly button done but spent so long hiding it from her granny she gave up and took it out.It could be worse, I could be filing.

Daughter mentioned wanting a tat when in college. Hubs told her if she had money for that she didn't need our financial help, and if she got one he'd remove it with a belt sander!sigpic

Part of the trouble with the belly ring it was the middle of July and had to wear a huge great jumper.It could be worse, I could be filing.

I think some tats, some EAR piercings look good, in moderation, but I too am conservative when it comes to our bodies. Just my opinion, tho, each to his own.sigpic
