I am a man living in Alaska. Have been drinking wine for over 15 years. Gotten so bad, I went from a bottle to a box. Cheaper and easier to administer. Convienent spout! Anyway, I have read MWO and am taking the supplements reommended in the book. Seems like it works for a short while, but then I convince myself to drink again. Think I need the Top. Not sure I believe in the tapes. Anyway here I am. Perhaps its a first step. My drinking hasn't caused any problems at work, in fact I am a functioning drunk and a workaholic as well. Never drink while working or driving, but make sure I get home as soon as I can to get that first drink. Wine is my drink of choice, but can easily handle a bottle of Crown in an evening. Thinking chatting will be a help. Hi All!Tags: None

Hello Cajuncritter! Great name.
I have also been on the wine for 15 years or so. Yes my consumption has escalated too. I have had two goes at the programme so far, first lasted AF for 13 days, next lasted for 18 days. I was taking the supps and the topa. I too am not entirely sure about the CDs, but to be honest I haven't really given them a chance (could be the reason that I relapsed - who knows).
You mentioned that you are a workoholic, could that be adding to your stress and triggering the race to the box of vino?
Welcome and best of luck with the programme.

Howdy neighbor --
I, too, started the program at first without any prescription meds. I had a little success but kept drinking, often as much as ever. It wasn't until I started topa, and got to a therapeutic dose (for me, 200 mg) that the cravings went away. I still occasionally get the thought that a drink would be "nice" (last night, driving past the Oaken Keg for instance) but the thought is easily replaced by saying to myself "it's not an option." That is really all it takes any more.
I'm not a topa pusher, but it really seems to have a powerful effect.
Just my 2 cents.
Best of luck to you~
