It could be worse, I could be filing.

Or avoiding phone calls. I used to be involved with someone who could tell if I had ONE drink, so I just would not pick up the phone and then make up some lie. He's history now and, of course, the last message I ever left him had to be one in which I was drinking. Sigh. I wanted so badly to get sober and for him to see me for the person I am, but he was such a jerk and would do things to tick me off, then I'd drink, then he'd say "see?" ad nauseum. My dream is to lose all this weight, walk into his work and hand him a Dear John letter SOBER looking fab, but I digress. Sorry. Just helps to type it out sometimes.

Hi everyone, thanks for the awesome additions to the list. I really helps me to read these, and helps me start to realize that some day I can say the words, "no thanks, I don't drink". Thanks for the support,

                Countdown to 30

Being sober in the early morning allows me to enjoy the melodious songbirds as opposed to thinking they are nasty creatures disturbing my drunken slumber.

So I can feel like a real human being again who respects herself & feels she deserves to be respected.

                    Countdown to 30

                    So I can live guilt-free..
I can be in control of my life again..
No more embarrassing moments the next morning when I realise something I did or said/texted to someone the night before..
So I can enjoy every moment with my son..
I feel healthy and motivated to do what needs to be done
I can learn about myself, and how to deal with life constructively; and concentrate on being positive, rather than sinking into depression..
"It works if you work it, because you are worth it!!!"

Thanks, these last three postings I just read this morning, and I got a little emotional. You have written some powerful things. You are so right. Thanks for these amazing comments.
