    Army Thread 9th April

Tips, I'm so sorry to hear what has happened and that you feel so devastated by it. JC and Ruby are right - get it out of your system - post, talk, cry, yell, whatever makes you feel better. This is the place to do it.... we're all here, listening...

Tip, sounds like the 'friend' has a bad case of 'foot in mouth' disease. That's WAY to personal to discuss in an offhand conversation, and none of her business. We can't help what others think of us. We have only ourselves and our loved ones to answer to.

I had EXPRESSLY asked her to only talk to the 2 (mutual) friends who knew I was drinking.

THere's just such a bloody stigma that clings to alcoholism, and its too soon for me to see it any other way.

Said "friend" has previously spoken casually about alcoholics and how they can't be trusted bla bla bla...

At the time, I shuddered inwardly - if only she knew THEN that we was talking to one.

Yes, it clings to us, maybe worse for women? Take a while to compose yourself, think, breath. You didn't drink, and this was a huge test. Your relationship with your wife is YOUR private area, but try to calm a bit.

Right. I'm going to have little lie-down. I'll be back later.

Thanks for listening. I guess that is what MWO, but especially the Army Thread is there for.

Now I understand why you feel betrayed. I was going to suggest that perhaps Mrs. T. needed to discuss the drinking problem with other women who had similar experiences but are distanced from your circle. Kind of an outside opinion - unbiased, if you know what I mean. Personally, it wouldn't have bothered me so much. But if you had asked that it not be discussed elsewhere that does change things somewhat....
