I just found out hours ago that my sisters ex husband OD'd on drugs and alcohol. As much hell as he put my sister thru he was still a kind hearted guy and only 28. Her divorce was barely signed off Friday. Leaves behind 3 little girls, who still thought of him as a hero, not a drunk. So sad. Before we grab that bottle let's think about those little people we will be leaving behind.

Such a waste of a young life.
Thank you for posting this. You are right, it is a reminder to us all of what could happen to us if we don't tackle our addictions.

We all know here how these addictive demons can take us over and I just hope that someone reading your post gets a wake up call before going down this same path. Hi All
Gearhead sorry to hear the sad news of al claiming another.
For all of us here struggling with al we realize how sad it is for these children to be without a dad. Also realize that we can still be alive and with our family but our children are still without a parent. The only difference is physically. Al robes the ones we love of a person they need.

So Sorry for your loss, Gearhead. Wishing strength and comfort to all who are feeling this loss personally, especially these children.
This is yet another reminder of how serious this addiction truly is. May we all use this as a learning experience and figure out what we need to do in order to prevent more tragedies like this one.
