Oh, BIRD! You bad girl!:H I'm cringing at the thought of washing all our clothes together, but that's just my little thing. I search them, sort them, dry some in the dryer, some on racks , snatch them out of the dryer while they're still hot. I'm even hinky about how I fold some things, or roll them!! Very sad, isn't it??
I don't count either, Tony. I got too hung up on it the first year, made me afraid, to I just AM now. Where are you MB?
Off to help Hubs clean up getting ready for the invasion of little people! Later, gators!

FINALLY!! Poppa has left the building! :H On his way to pick up Grace, then meet SIL at our rendevous point, about halfway between our homes. SIL is practically FLYING when he gets to leave them all at once, bless his heart. They're wonderful parents, but deserve some alone time occasionally. And their 3 are like bottle rockets!!

Good morning to all of my journey friends. Ruby-which gorgeous granddaughter is that in your avatar? What a beauty. I hope - I know - you will have a great time with your grands - what a treat to have your daughter's children too. T-have a safe trip!! I hope those lovely ladies don't fight over you!!
MB-how are you doing on the Bac? I'm glad you had a day off yesterday. Bird-I'm sorry your foot is hurting...try to stay off it as much as possible today. Enjoy the movies with your kids. IAD-have a great time in Baltimore-I love going there. I used to go a lot to the aquarium when my kids were little...it's only an hour drive from where I live. Sunshine-nice to meet your acquaintenance. I live in Pennsylvania and am close to 10 months AF thanks to this site and the wonderful people on here. I have 3 children-daughter is 30, middle son is 27 and youngest son is 16. I also have 1 granddaughter-5 months, who also was my inspiration for being AF. Vicki-thank you so much for always thinking of me and your sweet notes. I think maybe you & I were separated at birth somehow...we seem to have a lot in common!! Maslow-just want you to know that I am thinking of you and will be so happy for you when you can see your kids again!! You sound like a wonderful father!

I'm sure I probably missed somebody.....but I truly consider each and every one of you my friends and am very grateful to be able to come here and share with you.

No sunshine here today, T. But not as humid either.
I was just reading about a 26-y/o young woman from our town (I know the parents) who graduated with honors, recieved a golf scholarship and graduated from JAX State, and who drove her new mustang through a red light, killing a 24-y/o Governor's Intern, in Atlanta. He was the DD for his friends, and had dropped them all off safely after a night of celebrating.
Her BAL was .229, nearly 3 times the legal limit. Two bright, young lives, forever destroyed, by one senseless moment. Sorry to be a downer, but how important it is to tell our children, pound into their heads, they do NOT want to become like us. Even if her BAC had been .09, she would still face vehicular homicide. Prison. A lifelong felong record. And his bright future is gone.
Ten years ago, I was the first on the scene of a head-on collision between a family and a drunk driver. The family was thrown all over the road; it was like Night of The Living Dead, with them crawling out of ditches, screaming for each other. The drunk was hanging upside down in his car, passed out, in a litter of beer cans and whiskey bottles. That was before cellphones were common, so since we were right in front of my parent's home, I sent my teenage daughter running to their house to call for help. I tried to help the victims on the road, but we left the drunk where he was. That image is burned into my memory, yet I later drove while drinking. With my grandchildren. That's why I talk so much about getting to have a relationship with them now. I have been blessed with a second chance, and I'm taking it, no matter what.
I don't mean to preach, you guys already know these things. It's just that I realize how lucky I've been, and I never want to see any of you go through what I have. Strangely, that's what my Daddy used to tell me. And yet I have.
Please, be safe out there, take care of your house. It will save you a lot of nightmares.

Grateful! Glad you checked in!! Wow, 11 years between 2nd and 3rd, that must have been an adjustment and new joy!
That's my Maddie (I call her Man, Hubs calls her Oddie b/c she never put her shoes on the right feet.) She's 12, and as beautiful inside as out. Honors program, accelerated class, an achiever who wants to be a forensic paleontologist, (or a chef!:H). Full of promise, and I DO adore and support her.

Yes-my youngest was an "oopsie"...but he was also my little saviour as his Dad & I divorced when he was only 1 year old. My daughter was like his 2nd Momma.

They are always a blessing, Grateful. Hard to see sometimes when we're going through personal trauma in our lives, but they're our little angels.
When I went to Rehab, my Tay sent me cards and letters, as did the others. But she was SO hopeful and caring, and I realize now I'm her only rock in a strange, difficult world. If I let her down, she will be lost. And the only time she tries is to please me. I'm gonna cry now, so I'll stop.

Good morning family! Grateful, so wonderful to see you check in. I love you so much. I did not realize you had a 16 year old son, does he live with you?. Sunshine, the truth is Roger (Tlrgs) is driving 13 hours to come visit me! What a great guy! Poor thing will be exhausted by the time Ruby and I get finished with him. Rog, Paul says you will be a miracle worker if you can do all our projects in one week! Are you still coming Sat? Yes, bring your laptop, we have wireless internet, and don't any of you forget your bathing suits! We are going to find time to play, too. Bird, 2 yound daughters? Bless your heart! My daughter made Paul turn gray and lose all his hair! She was hell on wheels, but now we are so close. MB, how are you doing on the bac? Remember you have to increase it gradually until it works for you. Tony (IAD), you are so awesome! It encourages me that you successful AF people fell on your way up, because I have fallen so many times and gotten so discouraged! I don't count days either anymore, because the truth is I got very drunk 2 weeks ago, but I have been sober for 6 months, too, with several relapes, with the help of the many wonderful people on this site. Ruby, beautiful granddaughter! It is so awesome that you were there for the birth of your grandchildren. I can only imagine how wonderful that would be. Sunshine, you may have told us, but how many children do you have? Tony, it is so awesome to live so close to Grateful. You should meet her. She is a true blessing to know. I wish I weren't so far from her! Ruby and MB, so close, but you can't come visit me??? I just may have to come see you! Well, got lots of tomatoes to can today. Ruby, I picked my first cantaloupe today! I hope to have more to send you. It is raining and Paul wanted to cut grass and bushhog the land. Hopefully, he will rest today instead, but unlikely.
