Rog, are you going to start a new thread Sunday (Aug 1st) or just keep this one going??I can't believe my babies have to go back to school next week. Found out today Gracie has been tested and qualifies for the Accelerated Program. She's nervous about it, 'cause Grace doesn't like surprises or change in her little world. After her parents filled out the form for her to be tested, she scratched off the yes and checked no! :H Luckily, the teacher asked son about it, and now all her teachers are going to talk to her about it, encourage her, and one of friends is going to be in it too next year. She loves to read, and her teacher was so impressed when the quiet little thing read aloud for the first time, she went and got some of the other teachers to listen to her. I buy her books constantly, and she likes the big, coffee table books especially. Bought her a big book every breed of horse, everything about riding and equine care, and a friend of mine who, with her husband, has competed with their horses in Olympic events and all over the world, has invited her to come to their stables anytime. I should have already taken her over.
Enough grandma brag time. Vick, check in love! I've been looking at Sue's pics of their visit with you, and you have SUCH a lovely house and yard. I know you enjoy your home, and it shows. Another boatload of bills in todays mail to deal with, still waiting for Hub's dad to go to the specialist in ATL. They were scheduling him for an MRI when Hubs reminded them (AGAIN) he has a pacemaker, so of course he can't have one! You have to watch everything people do to and for you.
MB, you've been so quiet, hon. Hope you're not overdoing it or worrying too much. Remember, yesterday is the day you worried about the day before. Sending you hugs too.
Rog, when you get your fleet ready, we need to schedule a race!!

Glad to see everyone checking in and a hello to those who have yet to today. Pretty simple day here for me. Stack of bills, laundry, finished off the basement (still needs "cleaned", but the junk is gone), and got my exercise in. Great to see you posting Good--check back soon!! Ruby--take advantage of those adavanced programs--here in Illinois, we barley have any funding for "regular" school, so thats great they still offer it there. Time to get the laundry outside--going to let the heat work for me and let the sun take a turn drying the clothes. Sun-I'm going to send you a PM.

ok hey there the conoe is alive ... it work and just put the glass in side the boat and had the conoe on the saw bucks upside down and sit on it and jump alittle it handles great .. now the inside needs to dry and ill lay in it and jump alittle ...i have to test it before i go to the next level... but anyway sue is doing better and well she just had doc appts and that all ... she sends her love

Hi All - day 13 AF for me and I am still feeling good. Today was an absolutely beautiful day here in PA after 2 weeks of miserable heat and humidity. I am proud of myself because 'normally' (in my previous AL life), I would rush home from work on such a beautiful day and immediately prepare my favorite cocktail and sit out on the patio. That would be the beginning of what would end up being 4 or 5 cocktails within an hour or two.

Instead, I made coffee, sat out on the patio, and read through several of my favorite cookbooks. It was a great evening!

Reading through all of the supportive messages on these threads has truly helped me stay focused and strong.

well progress on the conoe started the bondo on the sides and will bondo the rest tomorrow ..im tired ...i really was thinking that this conoe was going to get the best of me in the begining ... but im kicking its ass and moving along great ... i can already see it done in my mind ...well have a great night and day tomorrow enjoy stay strong and keep shifting forward ...

Evening all! Just got in from work. maslow - I don't even have a working dryer - haven't had one for about 4 years - in the summer the washing goes outside, in the winter, on lines in the cellar!
Ruby that is great about Grace - laughed at her scratching out the yes and checking No! It is good that her teachers are all helping too, and as Mas said - it is great that you have those programs - very little here in IL.
Biz - Paguy, way to go both of you. You are doing really well, and as Tony said, we get stronger from your strength! Paguy - are you taking anything or just doing it on your own?
Tony - sounds like you got away with a really good deal with the car - although were you sort of hoping for a new one??
Rog - sounds as if you are working so hard on the canoe - the mind boggles at you having to lie in it and jump around! We will look forward to seeing pictures!
Vicki - where are you????? Has anyone heard from her? It is too late to call her for me now but I might tomorrow I think......
MB, Goldie and anyone else - hope things are going well. I shall be back in the morning!

Thanks, Sunshine! Yes, I am feeling stronger each day and No, I am not taking any meds at the moment. Working on keeping busy, reading, and listening to relaxation programs. Also, I downloaded a self-hypnosis mp3 recording that I think is helping.

Good Morning, all! Welcome to our family, PAGuy. I am also in PA and loving the weather we currently have without the humidity! Congratulations on 13 days AF - well, 14 days now! You are doing great. Biz-I am so proud of you, too. Hope you slept last night...it should start getting better.

I think Vicki went to her family's house over the weekend, so maybe she is not home yet. Hopefully she will be back with us today.

T-I can't wait to see new pics of your canoe.....I was laughing about you jumping up and down in it.

IAD-glad your van didn't cost too much and that you didn't have to get a new car along with payments! We have a 1998 Toyota Tacoma that has over 250,000 miles that is still going strong! Hopefully it will stay healthy a while longer.

Man I had the drinking dream from hell that I got drunk at work with some guy and didnt remember any of it and went to work next day hungover and there were photos and booze bottles all over. TG it was a dream hahaah. Worked yesterday 3 hours it was so hot and thought about beer all evening guess thats why I had the dream. Ruby both my kids in gifted program for years and they love it, gifted services are threatened by the economy now so lucky to have them. Mas so you got the basement done good for you. Gold I love your posts and glad your Mum is doing better. IAD glad you kept the van. Those payments are hell. Ok T lets see the canoe now. Biz and PA doing great. Sun we dont have a dryer either. A snake got in my aviary and ate my finch and a quail. I found him in a birdhouse his chin was resting on the hole think he was asleep so covered up hole and carried him out to the pond and liberated him. Was a little oak snake and very long.

Oh, Birdie, you were very forgiving!! Hubs asks my permission now b/f he 'terminates' a snake, and then we agree the dangerous ones have to go b/c of our little ones and little dogs. I love snakes, lizards, frogs, all things God has made, but sometimes we have to think more about the possibilities in the country. My dogs show no mercy, however, and I like to have them with us when we go on our treasure hunts in the woods. I found a great little site online about keeping fowl, it's been years since the kids kept them.
Rog, I know we talked about starting a fresh thread in August. The downside is others may have trouble finding us; the upside is that sometimes very long, established threads are sometimes intimidating to new people, may make them afraid they won't be accepted in an established community like ours (which can't be further from the truth!) Can't wait to see the finished canoe!! Glad Sue is better!
We had a fierce electrical storm here last night, knocked out our cable, internet, and finally the power. It's a strange thing when everything gets so quiet when the storm is over, and all the ambient sounds of things running stop. I'd picked up a John Grisham novel, 'The Summons' about 7:30, and finished it about 7:30 this morning. The dogs nearly took the walls down during the tremendous lightening flashes and booms of thunder!
