my son luke was born with a cleft palates! and we had it fixed when he was just a baby .. was the toughes thing i ever had to go thur with him .. he was hog tie both arms pin to the sheets and he always try to scatch his mouth by turning his head to his shoulder .. but it looks great now and bearly notice anything was wrong ..

Ruby ur post about family day at home was a lovely one to read. I could almost hear Grace's sweet voice.. Four generations of you gathered together is amazing in my book & yet you make it sound as natural as the breeze. Btw, what did u use to force hubby's rest in the chair - some strong sticky tape or a good rope & a few nifty knots?? That bowl is just beautiful. As u say, what a special gesture. What is this thing RIDE THE GATOR Rubes??? I might have to come ride it too whatever it is. Someone is always riding it.....hey my neighbors are always yelling and fighting fuck is every other word. Once she was yelling at him to go get mah fukkin coffee pot...guess he'd traded it for crack. The cops are over there all the time carting him off. A real circus....Had a good time at the gig last night. It was a benifit for 2 people with cancer they do every year, they pick the people and split the money up. The booze was flowing but I just drank water. The jam was at the arts center which has a nice garden area with good smelling plants. Since there were 3 bands playing I spent all my down time out there and the moon and stars were wonderful. They sent me home with a 12 pack so I dont know how I'll do with that (or not do) since I havent been taking my antabuse. My Rosie has a string (bass) concert this afternoon at the arts center so there is that. Also we have a friends of the library meeting tomorrow night and I dont want to be hungover. Stuff going on with the kids all week too and I don't want to be hungover I keep imagining myself sprawled on the couch with a headache and feeling sicker than sick. Blah...later on...bird

Great the gig went sober & well bird. And the moon & the stars - I always like the idea that we're made of cosmic dust, just like tey are... Boy ur neighbours make mine sound like angels, still a pain tho. They're out now so peace reigns..
Hmm the antabuse thing. I never used but people suggested it & I have a good friend who uses it. It's a life saver 4 sure 4 some. I'm guessing tho that it takes the debate out of ur head - fear of physical sickness over-rides it ? Could be this is ur time 2 become ur own antabuse ? And maybe not...
From the outside looking in, seems step one would be 2 mimic what the antabuse did 4 u thought-wise. Which i imagine is something like 'Can't, so won't. Shit, oh well...' So just don't entertain the debate. Maybe IMAGINE u on it & run EXACTLY THE SAME thoughts u would do ? Just a thought
I'd pour it down drain if were me. Or maybe have a 'goodbye beer' ceremony - wait till nxt time u need 2 do a 'big jobby' - pour beer down toilet, dump on it, then flush !!! Sorry, feelin bit silly 2day
And i bet those 2 people with cancer - if they could be cured by just givin up booze, would the decision take more than a beat ?

T, when my daughter spent almost 2 weeks in Scottish Rite Hospital in Atlanta having surgery on her bladder and kidneys, at 5, a newborn with a cleft palate was brought in from the hospital next door and put in the room with us. He had his days and nights mixed, his young parents went home and left him there, and while I was trying to nurse my child back to health he cried all night for 2 nights. I tried to cradle him, walk him, but nothing quieted him, and his poor little mouth was just like a hole in his face. I couldn't feed him, quiet him, or sleep any, and he was keeping Tip awake. I finally raised so much hell with the nurses they moved him. Of course I felt guilty, but had to look after my child too after major surgery.

Jack is fine and dandy, rarin' to go! Uncle is OK, just old, alone, and sad b/c his wife has slipped so far into Alzheimers. They were closer than most for over 60 years, so it's painful to see.
Since my wonderful aunt passed away a few weeks ago, it seems the heart of that big family, my momma's family, has died. Another, older sister is now on life support in the hospital. And the last brother is in very bad health. That's a whole 'nother book, the way I remember my family, andit's slipping away. But to every thing there is a season.

well today i have to get things ready and make sure i have what i need for sue sisiter house and pack..tommmorow take the tomatoes over to my nighbor and let her take care of them and sam will be just fine .. uncle will feed him ... lets hope he remembers..and ill pray to god the house isnt that bad .when we com back in one week ..you know i love animals but there is one here i could do without .. uncle has this one dog that looks like a pot belly pig and she is out right lazy .. doesnt like to go outside to do her busnnes you know what i mean and we are always having to clean up after her .. but thats uncle baby .. that little shit ..
