Alright, got a sec to check in. Grace has been here ALL day. We've taken lots of pics, she's been tortured in the pool by Pop, we've made smoked chicken thighs, she's eaten the remnants of her special ice cream, but it's gettin dark, and any minute I expect she'll call Daddy to come for her!
Oh, forgot our scavenger hunt for 'special' things, like mosses, rocks, ferns, etc. They're all in our basket. I'm about wiped out!! I had to come down the pool slide THREE TIMES for her, almost drowned each time! :H Now she believes I can do it, and that Poppa is the Great White Shark of the pool!!
She's calling, later guys!

Yup, she called for Daddy! He'll be here in a minute. Because of her crazy momma, she has separation anxiety when she is not with my son at night. Her fav thing is to sleep on his chest, but DAANNG she's getting to old for that.
Hubs played and tormented her in the pool, and she's become so much more confident in swimming. I don't think she'll make me come down the slide again any time soon!!!
She's out the door, with the promise she'll be back first thing in the AM. Oh Lord Love A Duck!!!

Paguy, welcome and congrats on 11 days alcohol free! You will find so much love and encouragment here. We hope you will stick around. Bless your sweet heart, Ruby. You really need to be honored as the greatest grandmother in all the world! I bet you were a great mom, too. Those relationships with children mold them. Those of us who never knew unconditional love struggle our whole lives. God bless you. MB, don't you dare beat yourself up! You are getting stronger and stronger. You do owe us some pics, girl. I wanna see your lake house. Glad you survived working out in this horrible heat! October will be a beautiful time to visit Ruby at her cabin and I know the two of you will be a blessing for one another! Sunshine, I'm so happy you enjoyed your breakfast with your m-i-l and have a close relationship with her. I didn't have my sweet m-i-l very long, but we were the best of friends and I loved her to death! Biz, you are doing awesome now up to day 5! Don't get discouraged. Feeling depressed, I think, is normal. You start realizing you will never get to drink again. That is why it is so very important to not think of yesterday or tomorrow, but choose this one day not to drink. I know how hard it is, but we are here for you and it will get easier. I don't remember when, but I went through this euphoria stage where I felt so incredibly happy and healthy and frankly, high on life. We start to discover life and the beauty all around us in a whole new way. Just be patient, you will get there! Roger, you canoeing yet? Tony, hope you had a nice day in the pool. Okay, we gotta put out an APB on bird and goldie and I hope I didn't scare nora off with all the drama that day. I've been thinking alot my journey and trying to figure out why I am just not getting this. I do really want sobriety so bad! I seem to keep going around that mountain over and over again. I am spending way too much time posting and not enough time reading other people's stories. Ya know why God gave us 1 mouth and 2 ears? I need to talk less, listen, learn and read more. Through all this, I have really been blown away at all of you loving me like you do, standing up for me, even when I'm wrong and keep encouraging me when I continue to fall. WHATEVER IT TAKES, I AM GOING TO GET FREE FROM THIS ADDICTION!!! I will never quit fighting and trying. I will never give up. Thank you all so much for your love, compassion, loyalty and patience with me. I promise I am going to do better. I love you all so much! Vicki

Hi everyone - welcome Paguy. Just got in from work - we have had one heck of a storm - good job I went in the car to work!! But at least we got some rain - that is always great!! So wonderful to see people joining, esp my sister of the celluloid, Nora C! Thin Man Rules!!!
It's almost 9 and Grace hasn't called. She has a little ziplock bag here with her money she collects in it. She doesn't want to take it home b/c her momma will find and use it. I know, don't make me cry. Everyday, Hubs and I slip in there and add another dollar or 2. She's already told me about what she wans to go and buy, at the dreaded Wal-Mart. She asked last night, while she was hugging me, why her money kept getting bigger instead of smaller. Hard one to answer honestly.
On to another adventure! Lord love a duck, I've gotta figure out a way to find a new adventure today.
Any suggestions, friends?? Rog, I need a boat!!

Good morning All. Well time to vent I can put up with the eurges I can put up with the depression, I can fight the good fight this is day 5 and to be up front I am ready to cave almost did at 3:00 AM I can't deal with NO SLEEP I mean I had 3 1Mg xanex enough to put an horse down and then 5 melatonins nothing zip zero and nota wink now I am draging butt if it wern't for the xanex I would of had a drink or three just to get some sleep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I read watched tv counted rats, prayed nothing and I turned down the AC to 70 It seems each night gets worse I'm breaking and I don't want to.

Biz, our body gets out of whack with our abuses. It adjusts to being narcotized with AL. Once we clean out our system, we regulate back to what the Lord gave us, and sleepless nights are few and far between.
Hubs is off on his Harley. Think I'll go rest a bit before Hurricane Gracie hits again!!

Good morning everyone - it is so quiet on here this morning.....Biz - as Rubes said, it is the body readjusting. I found that the sleeplessness was the worst thing about the first couple of weeks, but it really does get better. Nap today - but not for too long or else you won't be able to sleep again tonight!! Maybe your nap yesterday threw you off? We have abused our bodies for many years - we can't expect it all to go back to normal in a matter of days, it does take time, but you are doing so well - please hang in there.

Well - everyone else - are you all still in bed? I feel like going back to bed - too many M & M's too late last night. I felt almost hungover this morning.

Off to do something with my Sunday - have a wonderful day all of you - Ruby have fun with Gracie in the pool again. I would there in there like a shot if I was there! How is the canoe going T? Keep cool all,

welll good morning one and all ...i have been on a mission and last night was almost the end of me ... i was pissed and the conoe almost got cut up as fire wood ... but i was tring to figure out ... why i was having problems with the resin and the form... and found out the the reason and now working on fixing the misstake ... thank god for gorilla glue .. i can fix the amost fist size hole that was eaten away bye the resin mix ...and had to resreach surf boards and found a way to make tis work ...
