        Hey Rubes - you get my 5 cents worth!! I went down to work today (hubs drove horror of horrors - hate his driving - 10 miles under the speed limit!!) and gave them my sick note and they have wiped me off the schedule for the whole of next week!!! I told them that that was quick and I felt most unloved!! They laughed and said it had been surprisingly easy to fill my shifts!!! How to feel loved and wanted eh???? They were joking (I think). Anyway, I can easily check in 2 or 3 times a day - have been doing so for ages - especially now that i am unwanted and unloved - I can check in half a dozen times a day - hell I can just stay here all day!! (Gosh, I said and wrote - the H word!!)

        Come on everyone - Rubes has spoken - time to check in!!!! I will be back later - put some salmon on for Maggie (it is a special treat and was on sale!!). It just thundered and it scared her. Ice cream was wonderful. E (daughter) is now having a nap before she goes home (at home her cats annoy her when she tries to nap!).

        Talk later - hugs and love to everyone - and Ruby I shall pester and pester - don't you dare withdraw - and I loved your funnies!!!!

                        I am late to the party, but 7 days sober here. First time in 35 years. (Ugh, did I really just type that??)

                        WHat's helping is that I've been going to funerals for a week straight and haven't been home to drink. Hub's aunt died a week ago last Thursday, and, while getting ready to fly out to the funeral, his uncle died!! So we just finished with that one today. ONe was in SC, this one was in Boston. The uncle was an old curmudgeon who never married. Turns out he gave his pittance to friends of his and not his nieces and nephews and some of them are pissed off. Geez, it's his money, after all...

                            Hi all
                            Well that canoe is looking so good T. I need to rustle up a new project. Had a great time at the coffee shop last night. Played with some very young guys who play guitar and are also trying to play drums might be some prospective students. Was terribly hot here yesterday they said the heat index was 115. The kids bored and on pc all day and night too hot to go anywhere and too broke to go anywhere but town. Tempting to spend car insurance $ and head somewhere hahaha. Sun dont you work in a bookstore? Saw a sign in bookstore window last night for pt help wanted and wondered what the job was like. Ruby enjoying your funnies. Saw an inchworm yesterday myself.Welcome phoenix and congrats on the 7 days. Nice photos IAD....10 days till school starts, the countdown begins.

                              Well heres that drum I was working on and ran out of parts. I covered it with rope and I have studded it with cloves and allspice since this photo was taken. It smells wonderful.

                                Good Morning all - good to meet you Phoenix and awesome on the 7 days!!! That is so good - there are others in this little thread here that are about the same too.....Rog - nice to see you posting again (LOL) but your canoe is really neat!! Are you trying it out today? Bird - love the drum - that looked like a of of work though. You are all so handy here. Yes, I do work in a bookstore and love it. I started 15 years ago as the children were old enough that I wanted a few hours work a week for some pin money......ha ha ha 15 years later, here I am 40 hours a week, one of the managers, and we rely on my money as well as Hubs, so even if I wanted to quit, I couldn't!! I so love my job though - the only downside are the customers at times - but the good outweigh the bad and I have met some great people. I would recommend it to anyone - but don't bank too much on the money - if you are a reader, you will spend half your paycheck in the store!!

                                Well, another day - I must try and find stuff to do. It is amazing what one cannot do with a broken foot. Hubs and I are going to try swapping cars - I have a gear shift, he doesn't, and see if I can drive. (Don't yell at me Rubes - this is driving me crazy and I will have to get to work somehow!!).

                                Come on everyone - get up and check in!! Will be around......
