I think the problem is we've got that many anti-virus thingies on it's slowing down everything

I'll have to get the son and heir to disable one or two

Jan it's been de-ragged, de-frocked, restarted,re-booted.
If this carries on it may have to have a little trip to PC world.

jc you can go back to a previous date,and like lj says defragment & clean old files,i have the avg free version and so far i am problem free

It seems to be working Ok at the mo. I'll get the son and heir to hold me hand later while I do complicated stuff, like press buttons.
I know it's not the virus as that's been kicked into touch for now.

I got a PM from Rived and she's not been able to get on hers for days. She's gonna pop in later.

yep I agree with mario..
take off all the anti-virus progs de-fragment and install AVG I use it and same as mario I have zero probs..
also how many others use the PC??
coz it can just take bad links to open or bad sites that pull virus in
with AVG when you google for things they are checked for safty and shown by green, orange or red flags for risk....
