    Army Thread 24th April

Evening Army... just got back a while ago and have been reading the posts to see what's up...good to see you all...
Lordy, Ruby, what's going on over there? Will check the weather stations... expect CNN or some channel we can get here will have it covered. Take care...like Jan says...take cover if you can....:h

Thanks SG. It's still a couple hours west of us. Just saw the city of Yazoo, Mississippi is bascially gone. I'm watching The Weather Channel, showing cars, big trucks, etc overturned on the roads, trees down blocking access. I'm praying for the people who were in their homes. There's no communication in there right now, don't know what the human toll is yet.

Rubes, I checked out the Weather Channel on-line and am reading some of the reports.. not very good news... hope you're safe. We have a couple of members from Miss. - I've seen it noted on their posts but can't remember who they are...oh, just checked and SickofBeingSick is from Miss. but she says it sort of passed right over them. Hope you have the same luck and that the damage from the tornadoes is limited to what's already happened..

Yes, SG, watching the news coming out now of the aftermath. It's devastating. They've set up triage units in the street, and are just beginning to bring people out. Air Life has been lifting one after the other out. Puts our troubles in perspective, doesn't it?

ruby, that is some hellish weather you got there.
ive had a jolly old day at the town st georges 'party' weve had morris dancers (ting ting), dragon slayers, flea circus, punch and judy and lots of silliness. i stood outside the pub with some of my old drinking friends (they do it sensibly). i had no urge at all..yippee and chatted quite merrily. this world does spin a lot wizzy happier for me sober.
though i did have a funny moment, a lass i know offered me a taste of her new fabby drink she made, something with rum and ginger wine in it. i took the bottle and just put it to my lips... without drinking.... would that have set me off, who knows, i wasnt taking the chance. not quite sure why i didnt just refuse. wierd eh
Today is the tomorrow i worried about yesterday and it turned out fine

I think there comes a time when we cross a line and accept we cant/dont drink any more and we dont care who knows. I could be well wide of the mark of course.

                      Hi de hi campers

Rubes, I hope everything settles soon x

Spuds I can understand that. I didnt want people to know I had stopped drinking at first. Now its easier, but even so, I sometimes make up some lame excuse

Spuds, doing this is one of the most amazing journeys you will ever undertake. They say that when we start drinking, our emotional development stops. Catching up with ourselves is incredible. Not always easy but certainly worth the effort

Good for you Spud. I think that maybe because the vast majority of people we know take a drink we dont necessarily offer the information up that we are on the wagon for fear of non acceptance even from people we have never met before. Great that you are seeing things in new perspectives and learning, it is freeing isnt it?
