I saw that reference the other day 'saffas' and had no idea what it was.

Does it relate to any one from SA?
I actually 1st came across the phrase / term here on MWO. I believe it originated in the UK (London) when we 1st saw a mass exodus of our young people from the country for "gap years" and such.

As far as I understand, it does apply to any South African when living / traveling overseas.

          Night Tawny.
Tip: The Irish diaspora (Irish: Diasp?ra na nGael) consists of Irish emigrants and their descendants in countries such as the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, Argentina, New Zealand, Mexico, South Africa, Brazil and states of the Caribbean and continental Europe. The diaspora, maximally interpreted, contains over 80 million people, which is over thirteen times the population of the island of Ireland itself, which had approximately 6.2 million in 2009 (comprising the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland).

Tis true about those figures Tip. I reckon we must lead the world in emigration over the past 300 years, not really sure what that says about the national phsyci.

and they're generally not very big.

1st time I was in Darwin in the wet season with my ex and we'd seen alot of lizzards.
One morning a big lizzard ran into my P'J's (which were on the floor at the time)
and I've gone to collect it and pop it outside,
But to my horror this lizzard was a massive bloody cockroach.
Jacq - LMAO!! :H jeez that must have been HUGE to be mistaken for a lizzard!
Tip - that Failbook website is hilarious! - esp the one with the 'milf' status and his mum replied that she hopes she's his favourite milf - WTF?? :H:H:H
Thanks for giving me laugh.. been a stressful shift so far with work, not long to go thankfully..

I would consider some of these people as friends even though we have never met and chances are never will. Heck some of you guys know things about my inner thoughts that those closest to me dont. I suppose it is because you guys have bought the T-shirt, worn it and probably spewed down the front of it too, just like yours truly.
