I worry about the housing market, too.

If our cost of living stays so high, how can we compete with the rest of the world for jobs?

Somehow, the cost of living in the US and Europe needs to decline so we can compete. Either that, or we will have to wait until the other countries "catch up" to us. I don't see that happening for many, many years.

I wonder if banks allowed for much longer time to pay, I believe in Germany they have 99 year loans, do you think that would help? It would be horrible because the payments would hardly touch the principal for years, but it would allow more people to keep their homes in a time when they are losing their homes. It would mean the banks don't have a bunch of empty homes on their hands that they cannot sell. And, it would mean our cost of living would decrease enough to perhaps allow us to take smaller salaries in order to compete with other countries.

I don't know. I don't usually jump into politics, although I absolutely love watching the British Parliament debates on CSPAN because those guys know how to think on their feet, even when I think they are wrong.

Oh well.

Not sure that would pique my hubby's interest, just confuse him or make him laugh.

don't be so paranoid..we are a harmless bunch..
just sometimes we have to pop off to do stuff...
it's nothing personal to anyone...
but we all have other stuff going on and just pop in for a natter and then get back to things we gotta get done...
