Has last cigarette at about 10.30 last night. I immediately got rid of ashtray, lighter etc....

Woke up this morn and the first thing I felt was a disappointed pang that I was not going to be able to smoke....quickly turned that around to...."Thank God, my lungs are going to get a break today" "Wow, I don't have to smoke today because I am now a non smoker"
I think if I try to shift my thoughts in this direction, it cannot help but get through to my brain in time...

I am actually hungry now...breakfast is usually skipped for me as 2 cigarettes and coffee takes away the hungry feeling I wake up with...so there is benefit no 1 right there...

I will be posting here during the day and for the next few weeks to put down how I am getting on...sorry if that will be boring for people...but I need to be accountable and this will help me a lot..

Wanna and K9...please check in and let us know how you are doing????

You're doing so well... you're an inspiration to so many.

You have said that you don't think about smoking very much anymore... that is wonderful news! Just be aware of the "Terrible 3's. (3 days. 3 weeks. 3 months). Many ex-smokers experience a bit of a rough go at these times. It can be complacency, that the thrill of the quit is gone, or even being taken by a surprise crave when they think they've got it all under control. Just remember that no matter the situation or stress, smoking will not help get you through it... it will only add to your current problem. Find the strength to deal with life's situations without a crutch, and you will feel more empowered by your strength of fortitude.

I think my iPad will have to carry me through to my one year anniversary (like my confidence there? LOL)

I DID go to the thrift store at lunch and got the cutest HUGE wall hanging for $6.99...it's kind of Tuscany style with a huge vase and olive branches coming out of it...super cute! Now I want to go back after work since I felt RUSHED at lunchtime...darn.
