my strongest virtual resolve goes out to you all!!
I gave up in June 2005 after about 25+ years of regular and sometimes heavy smoking (and I started at age 12, but only became regular when i could afford it. Before that i had to rely on pinching them from my parent's dairy!). Tried every day to give up for so long and even managed a year without them in 1988 and running long distance races! But I started again when i was travelling in West Africa and when bars would sell single cigarettes. And I kept thinking "its only one" (yep: the familiar story!!) By the time I got back to the UK, a whole packet felt like the height of luxury! But I ended up feeling really felt defeated by it. I eventually managed to ditch them and haven't looked back since.
Its a long road, but so worth it! Your body will seriously thank you.
