      No More Butts...The Beginning..

Ok pangs are certainly stonger than yesterday but stil nothing too major.....I keep forgetting and saying to myself "Ok time for a smoke"..then feeling that diappointment when I realise...but am coping fine, keep imagining I look better already!!

Pamper night for me tonight, gonna do facial, etc and curl up (yet again ) and watch shite....it's the only thing I feel like doing at the moment and actually look forward to to it.

I stil feel some tightness in my chest and my gums feel a bit sensitive...other than that feel good.

      How is everyone else doing?

Hey 123, its strange you are feeling tightness in your chest, for me it feels looser, women are different around that area so it could be that.
Pangs are not as bad as yesterday for me, its really amazing actually, I woke up this morning with no desire or cravings, even after my coffee.
Having lunch now and it tastes absolutely lovely.
My brain may be fooling me, it likes to do that.. lets see.

bugger.. i fell at the first hurdle. was so please with myself yesterday. no smoking. just got back from docs after picking up repeat prescription and they havent put my campral on it. they say its not on my repeat list so i cant get it till i see a doc again. really mad at this.... im so pleased at how well im doing on the drinking front, it has really annoyed me. not gonna drink of course cos i dont do that anymore. but i caved in and had one roll up. back home now and pissed off with myself so im back to sucking on the lozenges. still happy that i didnt smoke yesterday and im pretty sure that i wont smoke today. i aid i wasnt too confident with myself on this but hey... one is better than however many i would normally have had.
Today is the tomorrow i worried about yesterday and it turned out fine

Smoking cessation timeline ? the health benefits over time

In 20 minutes, your blood pressure and pulse rate decrease, and the body temperature of your hands and feet increase.
Carbon monoxide in cigarette smoke reduces the blood?s ability to carry oxygen. At 8 hours, the carbon monoxide level in your blood decreases to normal. With the decrease in carbon monoxide, your blood oxygen level increases to normal.
At 24 hours, your risk of having a heart attack decreases.
At 48 hours, nerve endings start to regrow and the ability to smell and taste is enhanced.
Between 2 weeks and 3 months, your circulation improves, walking becomes easier and you don?t cough or wheeze as often. Phlegm production decreases. Within several months, you have significant improvement in lung function.
                      In 1 to 9 months
, coughs, sinus congestion, fatigue and shortness of breath decrease as you continue to see significant improvement in lung function. Cilia, tiny hair-like structures that move mucus out of the lungs, regain normal function.
                      In 1 year
, risk of coronary heart disease and heart attack is reduced to half that of a smoker.
                      Between 5 and 15 years
after quitting, your risk of having a stroke returns to that of a non-smoker.
                      In 10 years
, your risk of lung cancer drops. Additionally, your risk of cancer of the mouth, throat, esophagus, bladder, kidney and pancreas decrease. Even after a decade of not smoking however, your risk of lung cancer remains higher than in people who have never smoked. Your risk of ulcer also decreases.
                      In 15 years
, your risk of coronary heart disease and heart attack in similar to that of people who have never smoked. The risk of death returns to nearly the level of a non-smoker.

Is there a list anywhere like this for people who abstain from AL? I do know my liver loves me again.
Ethanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?

Must be somewhere, cause we all know the damage that prolonged and/or over abusive drinking does to it.
