    Hi Patrice,
    Its great to have you on board - there is plenty of room in the 'no smoking' section! lol.. im jumping back on the wagon tomorrow.. i stupidly bought a packet yesterday after a run of disappointments this week.. but am ready to take on the challenge again to quit smoking for good.. it does nothing for me at all.. this slip has proved that..

      I started smoking Winstons at 16 , gave them up . Didn't mess with tabacco for a long while.....Then I started Chewing tabacco and snuff when I played sports ! ( Everyone did !) Giving it up was the hardest thing I ever did.....Been Tabacco free for 20 years. You all can do it ! Keep fighting ! IAD

              Have really been battling cravings for the last couple of hours. Seems like it's starting to get a bit better now though. At least it's quieter in my head. Glad I cleared out the cigs; pretty sure I'd have lit up had one been handy.

                        Love the cartoons! Keep 'em coming, IAD!

                        Still hanging on here. I REALLY want to get free of this nicotine addiction. Just started the second week of Chantix when the med goes to a stronger dose, and looking forward to a reduction in cravings now that I'm past the 72 hour mark. If the meds are stronger and the nicotine is weaker, this should get easier right? I hope, I hope, I hope...

                        Katie, Wanna, K9, Patrice, and others, Come on up! Having Oney and IAD as cheerleaders is super support because in addition to all the other reasons to quit, not wanting to let them down is powerful!

                            Hi Fellow Butt-Kickers,

                            Hit a few rough patches today. At one point I began to feel incredibly sad at giving up my constant companion of the last three decades, and the nicodemon told me that I would be sad for the rest of my life if I kicked him out. I had something to eat, then got online, posted a little, and have read a lot.

                            This thread in particular saved me, and I re-read all 45 pages of it. Hearing from so many about how hard it is, despite your determination, hearing every last one of you former smokers say it was one of the best things you've ever done for yourself. FallenAngel's posts offering tips from her own experience are priceless! And of course, Oney's story of her early battles and ultimate triumph.

                            My heartfelt thanks to every single poster on this thread. Y'all got me through day 4.
