Well, I stayed on the couch with feline.
Big Mr. Frosty here this morning and currently it's a balmy 1C.
Beags - hoping today will look a bit brighter for you.
Missy - hope you'll report in when you've completed your run/walk.
Everybody - have a lovely, gentle Sunday. I'm off to the monthly farmers' market.

Morning All.
Still cold and misty here.
Reading back it looks like a busy nite was had by all,
sounds like we all survived it.
Hubby has been busy here,
he's already got soup bubbling.
Fancying a lazy day but I must find motivation from somewhere (anyone got a bit spare)
I have new carpet going in this week so I must box everything for easy maneuvering for the carpet guys.
I'm with you Bridge,
That cuts quite a figure in the old imagination doesn't it..mmm...Happy to be back

I am so saddened to report today guys that last night my beloved lovebird Lentl died, quite suddenly, after 2 small seizures.
No warnings,no prior illness, just happened.
I cannot bear to let him go just yet.So will keep him inside my shirt today.
That's one of my "children".

Beagle it's terribly sad when one of our little mates dies, and hard to cope with too.
The last one of mine to go was my dear old dog (19 1/2 yrs)...it was a good innings but still shattering. All you can do now is pay your last respects to Lentl.
I buried my dog (Wilson) in his favourite sunny spot in the garden, in his favourite blanket and with his favourite bowl. I planted a hardy little shrub over him (a Watsonia) and keep an eye on it. It is thriving, being durable like he was. I put flowers on the grave and am not ashamed to say I shed a few tears.
It is a truism to say: 'in the midst of life, there is death'...we just have to deal with it.
You have my deepest sympathy.

Beagle, so sorry about Lentl. I like the idea of carrying her around for a bit. And I hate it when people are scathing about mourning for a pet. Anything that brings out the kindest and tenderest bits of us has got to be a good thing.
Bridge ..... are you back from the beach yet?? Dog isn't planning on another nocturnal jaunt is he??
Mr B and I are sitting here feeling smug and proud. The runs today were pretty savage - heavy rain and mist all the way through, plus a 37km/per/hour southerly and only 10 degrees. But he finished - his first marathon and at age 54! And I did my 10km run/walk in the time that I had wanted to do 2 weeks ago, but had given up on last week because of my cold. I felt really good about braving the elements and sticking to my race plan ...... a metaphor that was not lost on me in relation to other aspects of life!
Just as I was doing the last 300 ms, Elton John came onto my i-pod singing "The Bitch is Back" I sang it out loud as I crossed the finish line :H:H Time to get myself some more attitude I reckon!
If anyone wants me for the rest of the day I shall be snoozing on the couch .......Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn

Must be Blunnies-off time all round. The people on the chook forum suggested I should take a book and sit in the coop with the girls in order to get us to bond. Who am I to argue with such sage advice? Chook training is an arduous business.
Congrats Missy and Mr.B. Continue to crank up that 'tude!

I'm sorry to hear about your love bird on top of everything else, Beags - sending you some good vibes from Saffa-land, OK?
Bloody well done Ms. & Mr. B!

When we get back from Cairns I am allowed to clean out the disused Chook pen at the bottom of our property and Guess What.....
I'm going to get a couple of Lovely Hens
The Lady who owns the property where I aggist my horses has started to allow some of her eggs to hatch, they're the happiest chickens. I buy my eggs from her and they're sensational, with the odd double yolker, much to the kids delight.
Always had hens growing up and looking very forward to it again.
Miss B you Guys are amazing,
I can only imagine your jubilation, Mr Rabbit and I have ran 1/2's but never attempted the full thing.
BTW I'm probably way behind here but "Where is Rags?" I musta missed that page and I keep reading back and can't find any hints.Happy to be back
