can you send it to me too Ficks?! Love polenta, and the thought of it stuffed with Brie sounds very more-ish to me!!

We've been spending Saturdays over the last few weeks cleaning out Mum's place and are just about there! Today I came back with a whole lot of stuff that neither of us could bear to throw out or give to St V de P ........ the soup mug that I gave her one Xmas with the money I saved from my first paper round, the baking trays that she had inherited from my father's mother (in much better condition that the baking trays that I bought 2-3 years ago!!), the orange tupperware container that was the first Tupperware piece that she ever had because my older sister tried her hand at selling Tupperware in the 1970s, my dad's favourite golf ball (the one he hit two holes in one with!!) ........ :H:H

And some amazing photos that I had never seen before, including one of her in the 1930s, aged about 16, with fishing rod in one hand and a bloody great fish (almost her height) in the other.

all in all a lovely day and good for some much needed perspective!

Ahhh Reginald - you're a sight for sore eyes. Great to see you back.

Missy - that sounds a nice way to spend your Saturday. When I cleaned out my mum's place I found letters I'd sent to her in the early 70's when I went off to live in the UK for three years. So good to read what was on my mind back then and even better to have actual hand-written letters, in an envelope, with stamps!
