Underoos and Friends - June
Hi jaqrabbit - yep,got 2 full Qh's older bro & full little sis, cutting bred, competing at campdrafting atm. Might try to upload some photos later!
Been an ok day but you know that mantra from AA? God give me the strength thingo? Well, God give the strength to pound the shit out of my annoying husband until he shuts up with the constant talking! arrgghhhh...
don't worry individ, i'm sipping a wine & will limit myself to 2 for sure.
But I STILL think it's day 6 over & next day will be af,as will the next. Just doing odat & not beating myself up as number one reminder : I AM NOT DRINKING TO EXCESS OR OVERINDULGING. So I will continue in this fashion if it's ok to everyone here - not making excuses, just .....ah well.
Will check in later!!!

She is so lucky to have you.I worked in aged care for a long time, and an aging population of course.....and the amount of poor people who nobody cares about or come to see is appalling. Out of sight , out of mind, filed away......
Bridge ....... it is easy for me because I have stayed living in Wgtn while my siblings have moved elsewhere. But I have stayed for my own reasons not connected to my Mum. I feel like I get lots of kudos for doing this, but that it isn't entirely well deserved :H:H I know that so many people in the place that Mum is now in have family that really care for them, but that just cant get there to see them regularly.
My own belief is that we need to take a much more holistic approach to paid work/looking after children or other dependents/unpaid work/ volunteer work/people doing work that doesn't fit into any of these categories. I have become a bit passionate about the working conditions of people working in aged care, physical disability and mental health facilities for a couple of years. If we expect families to look after their own, then pay family care-givers from the public purse. If we expect public provision, then train people properly and provide them with adequate financial compensation and a career path. But dont build into the funding system the expectation that either family members or health care support workers will subsidise the cost of health care, just becuase they will do everything they can to care for the person that that really love or care for.
(stepping off soap box!)
And if we are going to have horse night, is there a nag that I can put some money on please?? It has to be one that will win though!!Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn
