Just noticed Ian Rankin's back. Wonder if it's the same Ian Rankin of 2/457 Lygon street Carlton, 3054?

Looks like a common theme here. Last week I made myself add up the time I spent on MWO in the course of 7 days. Needless to say that if I had applied myself to a bit of work instead, I might not be so behind in trying to complete the stuff that is due before 30 June ...... :H:H So I am trying to cut it back to only reading for 15 mins in the morning and posting only when my work is done for the day!!! (but I usually sneak in for a few minutes here and there!!
Bridge - sorry about Bushy. :l Once you have done the Glyphosate, you might want to add a bit of fungicide! But sounds like lots of fab opportunities are opening up for you and your boy. Wow, everything is falling into place!
I've just written a long moan-ey post, most of which I have deleted - think I just needed to get some stuff out of my system! But I have been feeling quite stressed and overwhelmed by everything over the last couple of weeks. Trying to take deep breaths and in particular not to get too cross at a couple of work mates, who are chatty social types, and who seem to need an hourly injection of light conversation, which I find really disruptive. I have resorted to ear plugs, but I end up feeling rude and anti-social. Added to this, there seem to be a lot of birthdays and other celebrations going on around me ......... I have been telling everyone that I'm not doing any social events until at least the end of August (and longer if I dont meet my end-August deadline) but I'm feeling under a bit of pressure to "make exceptions" - for birthdays, people going overseas, people coming back from overseas, people who I've done a favour who really want to say thanks by taking me out to dinner etc etc etc. I try to stick to my guns, but then I feel rude and ungracious. So I do things like agree to go out on Saturday night, and then I got to bed late and felt tired and grumpy all day and it quite ruined my Sunday.
Sorry for the tirade ..... I'm really tired, think I am catching Mr B's cold, and various other things going on in the background, and I just want to run away for a while. I'll think of something to be grateful for once I'm in bed. Oh yes, that's right - I'm grateful to be AF again today!
And hello to Shas and Elle ...... really, I'm not always this grumpy!!!
Greetings to Tawny (how're the chooks??!), and Mr G, Fickle, Tip, Stirly and Cindi and Jacq and anyone who I have now offended by leaving you off the list. Beagle, you around?Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn

Hi Missiosos,
Can you use a lap top, and or, work in another area of the workplace? I work in an open plan office space with a small tight knit team, and I would have no hesitation in either doing some of my work on my laptop away from yapper's, or explaining to them directly, firmly, and politely, that i need some quiet to finish this project.
G'day Shas!

MissB, sorry to hear about the problems at work. It is so annoying when you're trying to work and people keep interrupting. As for the social side of it, hope you get it sorted out soon. I know what you mean about spending too much time on MWO. I do myself, today not being an exception. Some days I just feel like I need to be here to talk to everyone.
Stirly
P.S.... Tigger has landed!!!For every 60 seconds that you are angry, you lose a minute of happiness.

G'day Shas!
We have medium term plans to sort it out by taking over the next office in a couple of months time, but it is currently being used by another sub-tenant of the people we lease from. Part of the problem is that we are small, but have grown a bit recently, so we are at the limits of our capacity. And the yappers know how important peace and quiet is for me because I've told them (nicely!) and they dont act selfishly. I genuinely think that we just have different definitions of what constitutes office peace and quiet - I could quite happily go all day without any social interaction at all, whereas for them it would be inconceivable. And the other thing is that there are things like phone calls from clients, which are an inherent part of the work and being nice to them pays our bills!!.
It's why I'm struggling with it - they aren't being difficult, its partly just the conditions we are working under. I'd be dealing better with it if I wasn't so stressed and had less work to churn through.
ho hum, off to bed, but will have a quick peek at Tigger's travels first ...Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn

Missy...re your social engagements..........could you just have one huge bash and get it over and done with ???
I often do this, and invite friends from different 'walks'.... throw em together....it is often VERY interesting what happens......
I know the feeling. I had a lot more responsibility in my work life than some of the people around me. It was a bit frustrating to see them spend SO much time perched on the end of desks !If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

I do the same Bridge. I'll often throw my many and frequent PM'er friend's together via the 'forward' option here, and it's amazing the reponse i get.

Figs are funny B's and they prolly react differently in your climate to mine....if it's an indoor fig it's prolly a Ficus bengamina and they get stroppy if they feel a breeze or have their conditions changed....bit like a woman Mr G ?????If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?
