    Army Thread 7 June

Burning question of the day: Do you really need a suit that cost ?250 for your graduation We said we'd pay for it.
arg,,, like spending a couple of grand on a wedding dress you'll never wear again. If it would have been my choice I would have married my wife in Jeans and blown the money on the honeymoon :H

The journey is the goal. As long as you're fighting the good fight and you're not giving up on giving up, you're winning. It's not about how often you get knocked down, it's about how often you get up again. Sobriety the goal for sure. But striving to get to that goal is what it's about. Not getting there. Because the journey never ends. The journey is the goal.

not sure if im missing anything as i cant see so well. had dilating drops in my eyes for diabetic check and everything is bright and blurry. good job i can type without looking. i have a bit of damage at back of my eyes so they're gonna keep an eye (ha ha)on it. i gotta get better control with my diabetes, which is a hell of a lot easier to do now im not drinking, i actually remember to have my injections instead of passing out with a bent needle trying to find my body. hope the running folk did well and are suitably knackered...... i think i would be on an oxygen machine if i tried anything like that at the moment.
Today is the tomorrow i worried about yesterday and it turned out fine

how did i get back ????? dunno i couldnt see, may be somewhere also (ho hum), no i got a lift, shades and cap on to keep the sun out of my huge pupils. was supposed to be going woodturning tonight but im thinking its not a good idea. i can damage myself with sharp tools when i can see so think ill leave well alone tonight. takes a few hours to get back to normal so its an excuse to not do much (like i need an excuse). hoping to get a little bike ride in later... if it doesnt rain (im not that keen)

Back again - um how about renting a suit? Just a suggestion.

We're paying for hire of his graduation gown and cap, and the official photos and he's wearing his old suit

Bad thing is, in a few years when they experience the real world, they will understand the waste of those 'necessary' things, as well as the status they impart in their current social standing. My daughter wouldn't even THINK about going to big chain discount stores while in high school. Now she is a coupon cutter and true believer!! :H

That's so true. Remember my childhood days how embarassing it was if mother would by clothes at C&A a German chain store. It was just not cool... Shew how things change when you have to pay your own way :H
