my aim for today is avoid football. its everywhere. think its gonna be a nice long doggy walk today. pen dog has been on a diet for about 3 months and is looking so much better and is much more perky when she is out. the down side is she can chase sheep faster. bribing her with doggy treats seems to work as she lives for her foodToday is the tomorrow i worried about yesterday and it turned out fine
Keep passing the open windows

Hey. SA horny thing? :wow:
Glad to see there's a little more life here againAF since 15th March 2010
The journey is the goal. As long as you're fighting the good fight and you're not giving up on giving up, you're winning. It's not about how often you get knocked down, it's about how often you get up again. Sobriety the goal for sure. But striving to get to that goal is what it's about. Not getting there. Because the journey never ends. The journey is the goal.

I couldn't spell the SA horny thingy.
I'm having another in and out day. My darling godfather was taken ill yesterday (he's 91) and have to keep disappearing off to take phone calls.
We don't know whats wrong yet,but he went to the docs very confused as was whisked off to the hospital. It could be worse, I could be filing.

Hello, all (or none... as the case may be)
I just had the most fantastic little trip with the cubs. They went shopping with me. If you don't fancy the small pleasures of suburbia, don't bother reading any further...
We stopped off at one of the local nurseries to see if any stock is starting to trickle in: I cleared an overgrown patch around our almond tree yesterday an am looking to get it planted up. We didn't find anything, but they noticed a display of succulents. So we're going to be planting a little rockery thingie in a clay bowl we had lying around.
Succulents stowed away in the boot, we were off to my favourite local mall. Its really small and practically deserted late on a Sunday morning. We ended up buying Mrs. T a gift - red, gold & silver glass tea candle holders. Mrs. T likes bit of subtle bling, so she loved it! They're already arranged in the lounge.
Grocery shopping took a bit longer than usual, because they kept trying to sneak stuff into the trolley when I wasn't looking. The youngest cub is quite a good comparative shopper, I'm glad to report! They helped unpack and put everything away, even.
Usually I just rush out on a mission to "hunt and gather" the weekly supplies. This was nice and leisurely, we talked a lot and just generally had a relaxed time.
And now the next mission: I'm making a big pot of chicken curry (Cape Malay style), to be served with basmati rice, freshly baked roti and yogurt raita with fresh coriander. I might even make a tomato & onion sambal as an extra option.
Cape Malay curry is incredibly flavourful. The emphasis is not so much on the heat, as the combination of and balance between the spices that go into it. And if you're not using chicken on the bone, don't bother...I'll do whatever it takes

I was just having an after dinner :sofa: and an after dinner chuckle. Spuds, you just have your own special way of describing things....:H:H
Perhaps training your dogs would be a solution.... here's a couple of ideas
Then of course, you have to make sure they understand your commands....

Sounds like a wonderful day with the younguns.
and being a mama, it sounds like she had a quiet and peaceful morning, too!!
Win/Win!!
However, is there anyway I could cajole you into posting your recipes for tonight's meal? There is a recipe section.
I love chicken curry and would be ever so grateful to find a good recipe I can add to my home cooking.
Meanwhile, I'll see how I can buy the curry you would be using.
TIA!!

Morning all. SG, those are HILARIOUS!
Tipster, sounds like a lovely, memory-making day. Cindi, can you imagine having a man who did the shopping, cooking, putting away, WITH the kids?? Not in my world! :H
I too would appreciate some of your recipes posted Tip. Like to spice up my recipes. I google a lot of the foods and ingredients you guys mention anyway.
Already managed to snag my little toe on our massive iron bed claw foot. Bed foot 1, little toe 0. Ripped and cracked, she painfully reports.
Hubs is bathing his hound. That will last til she gets outside. Off for the day, so have a great one everyone.sigpic
