    Hi all I usually don't tread on this thread but WTH...
    Outside of a dog a book is mans best friend. Inside of a dog its too dark to read

      Oh thank goodnes... Because, as I said, this is horrendously important... (not)
      I'm looking for a good batter recipe for fish & chips - you know, the proper old kind that was nice and greasy (not the new, updated, healthy, tastes like caca kind). I've given up on finding somewhere that serves it and must now resort to trying to make it myself.
      Any ideas? (Ive got SUCH a craving for some...)

                        Thank you! I think the secret might have something to do with the oil - it probably has to "age" for a few months before the fish tastes just right. I remember the huge vat of yellowish oil the halibut was cooked in at the F&C shop from my childhood - actually it was disgusting looking. Perhaps I'm off it now!!!
