    Happy Fathers Day

Wow phil, that is one hulluva success story and I see the steps you have taken and the steps I am at.
I was drunk one morning when I went to be with my son shortly after we split up, she got a restriction order on me and stopped me from seeing my son because she was worried for him.
6 Months later with a lot of work under the belt I finally get to see him again, not only because I am sober but because she sees the steps I have taken to get to the point where we are now, this includes counselling, alcohol specialists and psychotherapy, I am also not bombarding her with texts and messages any more which seemed to put the blame on her.

I too done this outside of courts, there is the argument of course that I could get better "access" by going through the courts but we would be bound by that for life, yesterday the meeting held promise that I will eventually have unrestricted access, weekends, holidays and so on, not next month or in 6 months time but eventually once she sees how much work I am putting into this.

I will stay sober, and I realized last night that I am far from the finish line, because when I got the news that I could see him my mind flashed thoughts of congratulating myself by having a few beers, sure I don't need to stop now that I have my reward. Lucky I didn't and realized it was a mind trick, but it goes to show that I have a lot of work to do.

I love your success story, I am going to copy and paste it and read it when I am feeling a little under the weather.

Wanna YOU are a success in your own right. But we are
a work in progress; and maintaining that success is only contingent on the work we do in accepting our past building bridges, and putting action in to move forward. On reading your post it's clear to me that you are doing just that. Be proud of your own successes as well as others. We need to give ourselves a good pat on the back at times. I know I certainly do!

        Many Blessings
        Phil

Wanna, I am over joyed for you and your son! Enjoy your time together!xoxo

Phil, we have a known each other on this board for a long time now. I can remember those times of struggle for you. I often worried about you and hoped that one day, you would use that intelligent mind and gentle soul to find your way out of addicition and back to your daughter. It has been such a joy to watch how your life has come together over the past year or so, and how you mentor others. xoxo

Happy Fathers Day Guys and to all the men here!
