Coney rolls are a kind of bread roll: chewy / crunchy crust, fluffy & soft inside, round shape, made with proper sour dough. They're also kinda cone-shaped.

It IS to die for!

1 large jam swiss roll
1l vanilla custard (the sweet UHT process variety - nothing better than that for this recipe)
250ml thin cream
1 can caramel (410g)

Whip cream. Set half aside, and mix the other half with the can of caramel.

Thinly slice jam swiss roll. Arrange in a layer in fairly deep dish. Spread some custard over it, and then a layer of swiss roll. Layer of caramel etc. etc. till you're done. It will depend on the diameter of the dish how many layers you'll get. Normally about three! Spread the plain whipped cream on top, and sprinkle with roast almonds or grated choccie. Leave in the fridge for a while.

Eat like a pig and give the kids the leftover custard with some jelly

Larry just got back from vets and has been discharged. His neck is still quite swollen and sore
but much better.
Now I just have to get the money off that woman :-(
