Not only bruises but BURNS... I cook when I entertain and I drank (past tense - it's been one day) when I entertained and in the past two to three years I have accumulated 4 or 5 white scars on my olive skin around the wrists, hands, etc. from hot stuff coming out of the oven or grabbing the cast iron frying pan with no oven mitt. I am looking down at one on the top of my hand as I type. Healing burn there. Why, why why do we do it. I think Alan Carr is so right. It's a nasty, smelly, poisonous, deceitful habit. There now I feel better.

Tipplerette I know what you mean about burns! Most of my scars are on my right hand from cooking while drunk. I hate them! My recent ones are nearly a month old...it's not a good look considering I am in the jewellery industry and use my hand to model rings etc.
Done with that.No more blasted burns!

I once was trying to change a light bulb while drinking, fell, pulled off a cabinet door and crashed into our antique dining table. Didn't remember the next day where all the bruises came from, but Lawdy didn't Hubs remind me. I still look at the patched cabinet door as a reminder of that nasty day. Humiliating. I'm clumsy sober; pathetic, drunk.

I got drunk one night and fell asleep against the radiator in my mothers lounge. I was to drunk to wake and in the morning when I looked at my leg there was an enormous blister there. It was ten years ago and I still bear the scar. I've laughed about it in the past, but I was lucky it was my leg. My face also bears one or two marks from silly drunken scraps. I know not drinking will help me to lead a better life?

I have a small scar just below my right eye. I was getting out of a taxi but I was so intoxicated that I fell flat on my face. I didnt even try to stop my fall. Had a huge black eye the next day. Oh jeez.......

It is somewhat amazing how we have these very negative experiences when we drink and yet still cling to AL for so long. I mean, broken ankles, black eyes, bruises, lumps and bumps. And let's not forget lost cars, ruined clothes. It goes on and on. But still we persist. Until one day.......
