Hi all,
Have had no time to read back, been so busy at work etc.

Need to vent/share so short synopsis:
One of my older brothers died at 34, he left 2 children behind with different mothers. I was 22 at the time, one was about 4, the other a newborn. My family would not 'own' the younger one, even though I did and always have, and that's been a sore point for me. At one point I tried to be mum to the older one, when her mum gave up, even though her mum forbade that the sisters should ever meet. The younger one's mum pissed off OS when she was 14 so she was brought up by her older brothers & sisters. I had 3 little kids of my own & plenty of dramas on my own as well.

Tonight I got a surprise visit from my two nieces. Over the years they have survived and they are going great. I last saw them a year ago, one just coming back from OS recovering from TB, the other younger one on her way off on the world tour. Both past the age where parents can forbid that they meet.

Can not express my joy. They are just awesome. This is just what my little family needed because I'd spent the morning in tutoring assessment trying to figure out if my kids have learning disabilities, if they are from trauma, if it because of the family court shit we've been through or whether or not my working full-time is a form of neglect.

I am beside myself over that stuff: is it worth it to slave for a mortgage (home) or am I an animal to not just quit and devote my time to my kids. I will cop shit if I work and I will cop shit if I give up and devote my time to my kids. What is money anyway? Compared to their lives? But how can we have life without money and if nobody is makin any? In counselling I've asked this question and they keep saying 'congrats you are not homeless' and stuff but I feel such grief that I can't give time to my little ones. They are in a really bad way.

Money/Wealth can be "not being homeless" or it can be "quality of life" it can be "time with your kids", it can be "golf" it can be so many, many, many things. I have a big tough time here figuring out what matters and what doesn't.

Sorry for my distressment.

I don't really expect any answer from anywhere... just needed to vent. I will get on with it as usual.
