haha about the song, i did too enjoy the latter more.
i've been in my cone of silence as usual. lots of staring at the walls. lots of sitting/standing & staring into blankness. hearing just silence. my head hurts quite a bit. gotta put my mask on when the blokes come in & act all animated. we're doing some shearing atm so ask the important quessies : how's it goin'? gettin' thru' 'em alright? backline ok? not too many crookies in the mob? good shearers? that sorta shit.
getting shrink wrapped tomorrow. a bit nervy but more than a bit curious & also a bit sceptical. picturing an elderly grey haired lady knitting a cardy or crocheting a throw rug & asking "now dear,what's bothering you" & really not having a bloody clue how to help me.

also, & I don't know whether to laugh or cry, hubby has organised in his eternal wisdom (to "brighten me up") a dinner out in Perth in Fri night at a special restaurant.....BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE.... a 7 course degustation with matching wines. Jaysus playsus. What am i gunna do.

Evening all,

Well a maarvellous day out and about on me bike. Lot's of little adventures had. I've got meself some 'gasket goo' to create a tail light seal/gasket (why not just buy a new, ready made one you eedjit), exhaust cement, for a small opening in one of me pipes (did it not occur to you to just get a new one?), and at long last, found a copy of a workshop manual for the old car. Does it get any better, i ask you?

Hello Beagle, she of endless patience! Best wishes with the wrap stuff. They tell me a lot depends on the rappore youse can get. You're having a go, which is huge, i reckon. x

arghhh, another thing, an invite to a 21st (don't laugh!!!!) but a lovely young friend whom I sort of inspired to be a vet. Don't really wanna burst her bubble by telling her that being precisely that prob got me where I am today....don't want to go but yes the classic comeback " you MUUUUSSST come, you're the LIFE of the party".....cringe cringe.

any advice on handling the degustation dinner mr g????

Hiya Beagos,

Haven't you explained to your husband you are battling the booze? If so, then go and enjoy dinner in Perth, alcohol free. If it's just the 2 of you, and he understand's, will that still be a stress/difficult? If you haven't explained your al issue with him, obviously this conversation must be had, but i'm sure you've done that.
As for the 21 st. Either go late, and exit early with your own transport, and exit plan, which will include a good, foolproof, simple excuse, and remain af throughout partay, or, do not go, stating you're crook, which you are, non?
Aside from that, i have no advice whatsoever.

Love of God I'm sick of people typecasting people as the standard party pisshead. Like the entertainment they don't have to pay for. And thinking it's funny because it suits them at the time. Something to have a good gossip about the next day.

Oh you know the type Mr G.....have a drink with me .... have a drink with me.... and then get all pseudo affronted when you do something anti-social...I think it's a control issue for some folk. They want the village idiot there to entertain them. Maybe they want to feel superior.
Usually the ones who, when told that you are not drinking anymore ... go to absolute bizarre extremes to tempt you into one. They are saboteurs.
