British woman handed suspended jail sentence for noisy lovemaking


A BRITISH woman who has tormented her neighbours for years with her excessively loud lovemaking has been handed a suspended jail sentence after being spared a custodial term for the second time.

Caroline Cartwright, 49, was hit with a four-year anti-social behaviour order after locals in Washington, northeastern England, complained that her ear-splitting romps with husband Steve were keeping them awake at night, the BBC reports.
She breached the order for the fourth time in March but escaped with a 12-week suspended prison sentence when she appeared in court yesterday - despite a judge branding her "thoroughly selfish".
Newcastle Crown Court in northeast England heard the couple's saucy three-hour sessions had disturbed neighbours for years.
Ms Cartwright's screams were so loud that she was overheard by a mail man and a woman taking her child to school.


Locals had complained of an "unnatural" sound that drowned out their televisions and gave the impression of two people in "considerable pain."
Town officials slapped a "noise abatement order" on the randy housewife but the din continued.
Eventually authorities resorted in 2005 to an anti-social behavior order (ASBO) - typically issued to people deemed to be a public nuisance such as vandals or teenage delinquents - but it had little effect.
Ms Cartwright received a suspended prison sentence in January for breaching the order, which banned her from making excessive noise, knocking, shouting or screaming loudly enough for her neighbors to hear, for the third time.
"I have tried to minimise the situation by having sex in the morning - not at night - so the noise was not waking anybody," Ms Cartwright told Tuesday's hearing, where she was accused of flouting it for a fourth time by screaming out during lovemaking.
