Oh KTAB.. your post is wonderful... i just read about 12 books about Ned Kelly which were all mostly crap. finally, finally, i found one which explains the actual political and socio/economic system which they lived in. An old history book. Tis impossible to comprehend really. One of my rellies was at his trial.

Thanks Fickle. I wonder what version of the truth is taught in Aussie schools? I am sure every country teaches their kids the version of history that suits. The point of my post was that the whole idea that the original white settlers were either the ruling class or convicts is nonsense imo. Ok shut up now KTAB

Betty in sort-of good form.. A bit subdued, and hanging around me ..... I will keep her under cover tonight. Litter tray in the bathroom with under floor heating. Have just given her her meds for the night. Staying at home tomorrow to look after her .......

Bluey, sorry, but a great believer in self-insurance and supporting the public health system. I do house and contents insurance, and third party on the car, but that's all. Its a bugger when the cat gets sick, but that is the price of having her. And if I get a terminal disease, then I accept that my time is up. Insurance companies are second on my "most despised corporations" list. First on the list is finance companies.

KTAB - you are absolutely on the nail. Australian convicts were most often rebels and thieving to put food on their families tables and I reckon should be celebrated. But then my ancestors were from Clonmel, and rebels themselves, so I am bound to think that!
