Hey Pie. Papmom is right it takes time before any changes are noticable. I had small changes but around 100 days is when I really noticed changes in my outlook on life. Give it time and work on yourseelf.

Thanks again all,
Pie
I was leery of prescription strength sleep aids only because I know that for some people, addiction switching happens very easily. (which is no criticism of anyone else - just my own logic behind my own choice). I found Valerian Root to be helpful. (I tried Melatonin and that gave me weird dreams, but works for many people)
Anyway...whatever works for YOU is what's important in your journey! Congrats on another AF/NF day.

Gonna need a "do over" on my AF attempt as I chose to drink yesterday. The weak link in my plan is what to do with myself between 5pm-9pm. Once I get that figured out, should be good to go. Still going strong on the nicotine front, for which I'm very grateful. Just wanted to get this down in my journal.

Small steps Pie. You are doing great. Keep posting regularly. If you compare the last few weeks to what you were doing maybe a month ago, I'm sure you would be pretty proud of yourself.
Have a great sober weekend!

Hi Meech and Phoenix, Thanks for stopping by. Haven't been posting here much myself because I'm stuck. I want to be alcohol free, but don't want to do the work. Is it Mario that says, "you can't wish it away?" In another thread, Sheri posted this about quitting:
Strategy #1: Take massive action. If nothing changes, nothing changes. The scope of what you are trying to do (quitting drinking) is truly massive. You are trying to change your whole life. This takes a huge effort. Do not underestimate it. Go big or go home.
It's spot on, of course. I did underestimate the amount of change needed, and the effort that would take. Thought I could just put down the glass and carry on. So, lesson learned. Need to figure out how, one day at a time, I can "go big."
