LOL Sheri - in my first AA meeting ever there was one woman who scoffed that I must not be an alcoholic when I said I was already 8.5 months sober. The "old me" wanted to get all huffy and consider a run for the hills just based on that one woman's comment. When I look back at that now, I think how silly of me to have a Big Reaction to ONE woman's remark. AA rooms are filled with regular, imperfect people just like you and me. Thankfully, I have met far more that I CAN relate to than those I can't. Just like the rest of life, AA isn't perfect either. But it IS a great place to find some sober friends, and a great place to help others who really want to sober up.
You would be an asset if you decide to give it a go. Funny, just based on your on-line persona, there is a woman's meeting I went to last Friday that I think you would enjoy too.
I'll imagine you sitting there with me if I go again this Friday. This group is soup to nuts. From suits to tattoos and beyond. An interesting mix and they all are of common mind when it comes to sobriety.
