    It was so quiet in the Army with Starts and Oney on hols and you without a computer. Go buy a second one you can use as a backup if it ever happens again....

      Been to opticians and yes I do need new glasses, thankfully still just for reading.
      It could be worse, I could be filing.

        Nope, not noisy, just talkative. That's what we like...

        I have three pairs of glasses... one for reading, one for the computer (not so strong) and one for driving and watching TV. I always say I can't see a thing until I put my eyes on....



        As you know, I don't have either blonde hair or blue eyes but the eyeshadow matches my font and I simply must         to be colour-coordinated....

          I quite like the frames I chose and thought they were rather cool and inexpensive until I added the cost of the lenses. Ouch!

            I got new glasses in the fall of 2005. The one lens fell out a couple of times and was chipped in the one corner. It finally fell out and broke so I didn't have my distance glasses and I really need them for TV. I took them in to have the lenses replaced and they quoted me a price that was almost as much as I had paid for the frames and lenses in the first place. Then the girl in the shop says, well we do have lenses made in Greece that are less expensive. Well stupid person, then those are the ones you should be suggesting. Home grown, not imported. They ended up costing me about 35 euro less than the imported ones. And they're unbreakable. And coated to deflect glare from headlights and such...

              That's what I like about our optician Mr Steely Grey :h. They could have pushed the Gucci etc on me but as they are just for reading he pointed me to the less expensive ones (ie cheap)

                I am actually wearing a pair of glasses I bought from a vendor at the beach one day for 5 euro. I've worn them for several years and they are just fine. I need stronger ones for reading but for the computer, they're A-OK.

                    ooh I for got to say that I've finally got the job application printed off and found two references that aren't family or friends. So I got to get me bestest pen out and fill it in tomorrow in my bestest handwriting. Then run pretty damned quick down to the hospice and hand it in cos the closing date is Monday.
